In the specific case of setting up Jellyfin, it takes about 10 minutes, you do it once, never have to do it again, and it has no programming skill requirement to it.

loved my time in Classic but in retrospect, my fondness was just for my guild.

The social aspect and the game being slower are intrinsically tied together. Having to run to the dungeon and then wait 15 min til a straggler shows up lets you know the people you are playing with in ways that modern MMOs and their gogogo playstyle just don’t allow.

Classic was full of systems that intentionally put the social aspect of the game front and center.

This was forever ago. But basically we both drove to a mall for I think sushi and a movie ?

The conversation during sushi went swell but during the movies I could tell she was sitting farther away from me than she had to.

On the way out I asked her if she wanted me to walk her out and she said nah. I was taken aback it was late at night. And was like. Are you sure ? She said yes so we parted ways.

I remember thinking man I’m not sure what I did wrong. That whole thing usually works. Lol.

Once I got home I messaged that I apologized if I made her feel uncomfortable in anyway and asked her on her end what went so wrong.

She told me during the movie / on the way out she thought I might attempt to kiss her. And she wasn’t feeling that way. I thanked her for being honest and that was that.

I wouldn’t have tried tho. I was fully aware that things weren’t going ideal. But yeah. Thats the story.

Your power supply is fine.

If you feel you can deal with your CPU for a few more years just upgrade the GPU and call it a day. A 3070 or a 6700xt would feel like a huge upgrade.

Having that said your computer is still entirely serviceable. I’d just hold on a few more years and upgrade the whole thing.

Most of the video games I’ve played were pretty good. The only one I can think of that I didn’t like was MySims Kingdom for the Nintendo DS. Dropped that pretty quickly. It was a long while ago, but I’ll guess it was because there were too many fetch quests and annoying controls.

Indeed. The laptop is great exception for QA issues. I have some of those issues but not some others.

An extremely annoying thing that happens to me you didn’t mention is when I’m using the integrated GPU sometimes the screen flickers.

And if it matters my unit at least doesn’t overheat at all. It’s actually quite impressive.

Only counter argument I can give you is have a bit of empathy.

Imagine that you were a young girl and saw this game. Chess. And you wanted to learn how to play.

The first person you asked was your mother and she told you oh that’s a boys game. But you still wanted to learn.

So you decide to just read up on the rules. You don’t really know anyone that plays. So you just kinda play vs yourself and redo. Old GM matches you found in old magazines. None of them are like you btw. They all seem like old men that live on the opposite side of the world.

You really like the game tho. And eventually you realize oh. There are actual clubs/tourneys near here I can go and play with actual people!

You go. And there’s not a single girl there. Because of all the hurdles you had to jump. Most others that would have been interested just quit.

So you get there. You are obviously underprepared because you didn’t have the support system that made learning it easy. Because of that you just get wrecked.

In addition to that you probably will have to hear some dumb jokes. That if you didn’t have such a rough patch to get there in the first place they might have been funny to you. But they aren’t. They just felt like you were being punched down.

Having exclusive tournaments and leagues is a very minor way of rectifying awful historical disparities. It’s not perfect and it’s not a solution by itself. But it’s absolutely needed.
