Covid is related to SARs which East Asian people seem more susceptible to. This is very evil. Well, hopefully this was only under Trump’s turn, Biden doesn’t need more ammo for Genocide Joe.

Didn’t he point at his own butt when he mentioned the light thing? I guess he wanted someone to shine a laser pointer through his butt.

Next thing you know there will be a conservative free love movement

They already do. Have you been to Southern Ohio? It’s a love free for all. They only talk bad about you if you don’t fit into WASP standards. “Oh, they work together alot, emotions run, etc.” You guys don’t understand how much this anti-porn, anti-choice stuff is mostly just racism and more about “our cultural” than religion.

Apple is bringing RCS to the iPhone in iOS 18 | The new standard will replace SMS as the default communication protocol between Android and iOS devices (www.theverge.com)

The long-awaited day is here: Apple has announced that its Messages app will support RCS in iOS 18. The move comes after years of taunting, cajoling, and finally, some regulatory scrutiny from the EU....

Finally, I’ll be added to the group chat for work. I’ll know where to report to just as early as everyone else.

mightyfoolish ,

Just get Telegram. Everyone except my boss moved to it. Now, Apple lost their leverage with iMessage.

mightyfoolish ,

I don’t know. It just made for a usable experience as iMessage made it so users literally hated communicating with Android users.

Some daughters have the same face as their fathers, some sons have the same face as their mothers. How could this possibly work?

mightyfoolish ,

@Corgana

They said the same thing about gaydar but I already subscribe $9.95/month for the AI addon package for that. I already preorded the trantenna (trans antenna 🤣 ) for a cool $500 down. No price is too much to keep children safe… on dating service networks? Wait, I thought we hated trans people to save the children? There shouldn’t be children on these sites anyways.

mightyfoolish ,

OverSimplified has very easy to digest history videos. Technically, you could learn alot from Youtube if you know good channels. Obviously YouTube is mostly commentary, vlogs, and other form of entertainment.

mightyfoolish ,

This may sound cheesy but this list is the healthy way to solve the issue people had with Lemmy.ml moderation. Thank you for compiling it, I didn’t reliaze there were instances for programming and anime. Glad to see a solution where we didn’t have to go through the adults (admins and mods in this case).

Also, it’s healthy for the fediverse to see communities spread on to many instances but it does make Lemmy harder for your average redditor to understand (but long term goal of a healthy fediverse is more important).

Also !greentext is a bit more active than !4chan

Lemmy.ml tankie censorship problem

I feel like we need to talk about Lemmy’s massive tankie censorship problem. A lot of popular lemmy communities are hosted on lemmy.ml. It’s been well known for a while that the admins/mods of that instance have, let’s say, rather extremist and onesided political views. In short, they’re what’s colloquially referred to...

mightyfoolish ,

There’s no need to defederate from Lemmy.ml. I rarely see their content on the front page of Lemmy.world. The other day someone complained that Lemmy.ml users were brigading a different thread. I counted three users with a ml domain…

We have different admins and mods, everything is working as intended. The issue is people bringing up tankies, communists, and China every three posts. Yes, we get it, the benevolent people who wrote us this software are communists. They allow us to have different mods and admins, there is no problem here.

Honestly, I wouldn’t post to /c/[email protected] even though I’m happy with how pro-Palestine those people are. The only community I look at Lemmy.ml is /c/[email protected]. It’s not their fault no one posts to the Lemmy.world instance.

I think it’s time to start banning users who troll other instances and cross pollinate the fediverse with drama.

mightyfoolish ,

A user’s ability to participate in a Linux community should not depend on them refraining from posting criticism about China or Russia.

I agree 100% with this statement. That’s not enough of a reason to defederate in my opinion. We need a better /c/Linux on our instance. It’s just that Lemmy.ml has more FOSS lovers.

mightyfoolish ,

Hating their opinion is not a reason to defederate. Legitimate reasons are general harrasment (stalking specific individuals), racism, bigotry, CP, derailing entire threads (not just disagreement on a comment), etc.

mightyfoolish ,

selectively purge the modlog

Now this would be a good reason to defederate from an instance. Modlog is what keeps mods consistent (right now I don’t like the Lemmy.ml mods rulebrick but at least they were open about what they don’t like).

mightyfoolish ,

Yes, it is. Which genocide are they denying? Is it the Uyghurs?

mightyfoolish ,

I remember someone else saying that the reason for Elon and all the Saudi money going into Twitter was to ruin a chance for anything resembling an “Arab Spring” from happening again. I would imagine adding porn to Twitter would help with the cause. It’s also why I think the government is weary of social media they can’t control well such as Tiktok. They want to remove the collobration social media provides when it comes to telling the news.

mightyfoolish ,

If he’s going to be accidentally useful (referring to Russia here), why not for us for a change? 🤷‍♀️

mightyfoolish ,

This is a huge problem for Samsung. This is proof they cannot maintain an OS, making them further dependent on Google. They chose a Linux compatible toolkit (EFL from Enlightenment) and tried making their own OS. It was terrible and filled with security holes.

I think they should rebase Tizen on PostMarketOS, as I don’t believe Samsung can create their own base.

mightyfoolish ,

Would that mean Biden is our latest “man president?” I think male and female sound better in this case.

July 11th cannot come soon enough. Lock him up!

I had to call someone using Microsoft Teams today. It does not work with Firefox, even if you spoof the user agent.

mightyfoolish ,

I can try again with a friend on Momday. Is there a specific user agent extension or a about:config option you used?

mightyfoolish ,

The Teams app is probably just Chromium pointed to the teams website. Might as well have Chrome/Chromium installed at that point.

mightyfoolish ,

So I guess this is a PeerTube instance with one user account. My question is how was I supposed to find this content if someone didn’t post it to this fairly slow moving community? I love the idea of PeerTube but how do we discover the content, is there a directory of PeerTube instances somewhere?

I aldo get an error of “unknown” when trying to subscribe using my world account.

mightyfoolish ,

I see them now. Thank you, I would have missed out on those other videos. I’ll try that link as well.

Vice President McMahon adds new context to his ring entrance

Fun fact: If the government would at least at minimum do something as mundane as locking up the rapists, we wouldn’t have to talk about Trump-McMahon 2024.

mightyfoolish ,

Republicans are in bed with oil industry.

mightyfoolish ,

The US also has a history of blocking shipments of items that are proven to be infringing of trademarks, patents, and most importantly trade secrets. I do think China has gotten away with a lot but in this specific case, the industry is using the government to get out of lowering the value of a new car.

mightyfoolish ,

Doesn’t solar make your household independent from a big energy company? You would think conservatives in the sticks would especially appreciate renewable energy.

mightyfoolish ,

I understand it’s a costly upgrade but at the end they would get the independence of government that many of them claim to want. But I get your point, people will lack what they can’t afford.

mightyfoolish ,

20 wings but one fry? Counting calories I see.

mightyfoolish ,

Because preaching to the choir is a waste of time.

mightyfoolish ,

No, I don’t. But we don’t have proof either way. Conservatives usually get a type of sickness if everyone around them does not think the same way.

Hopefully, Halely self reflects and figures out why she is a running [get it] joke. But let’s be real, she’ll probably never change.

mightyfoolish ,

South Park reference. Probably the funniest episode in the whole show outside of “Hare Club for Men”.

mightyfoolish ,

I remember someone on reddit had a very, very long list of Republicans doing something sexual with minors or towards minors (like driving to a school and jacking off). So, can we expect some friendly fire here?

mightyfoolish ,

This is proof that for the ruling class life really is just a game… of Monopoly ™️ .

mightyfoolish ,

It would be a much taller order but support for PostMarketOS (a Linux distro meant for mobile) would be huge.

mightyfoolish ,

I would not recommend a Pixel 6 or anything newer. Samsung can’t seem to get 5g working on their own modems (chip that connects to carrier). Samsung generally uses Qualcomm modems for their expensive products. I do hear less people complain with the Pixel 8 but no one should be complaining about a modem in a phone.

mightyfoolish ,

I have the 6. I set my phone to prefer LTE to gain HOURS of battery life and to get a more stable connection. I always have an issue where the phone may take a minute after pressing call to actually initiate a phone call.

My next phone is probably going to be OnePlus. Either the 6T on PostMarketOS if it actually works or just the latest cheaper model (but I’ll wait till the 13, the 6 is only like 2.5 years old).

mightyfoolish ,

Yeah, its 6 years old. I’m not recommending people to try PostMarketOS. It’s just on my to do list.

A blue-ribbon commission concluded that Osama bin Laden had pioneered a new kind of terrorist group—combining superior technological know-how, extensive resources, and a worldwide network so well coordinated that it could carry out operations of unprecedented magnitude

Caves in Afghanistan…

Honestly, the conspiracy theories for 9/11 were a thousand times more believable than this “expansive terrorist network” that somehow lacked influence outside of perhaps the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. Seeing this sponsored by a US ally makes a lot of sense to me.

Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) is a Palestinian-led movement for freedom, justice and equality. BDS upholds the simple principle that Palestinians are entitled to the same rights as the rest of humanity.

Why does this company suck at AI even more than the other companies? Android has had machine learning for years already.

Ireland, Spain and Norway to recognise Palestinian state (www.theguardian.com)

Ireland, Spain and Norway have announced they will formally recognise a Palestinian state on 28 May, triggering an immediate response from Israel, which said it would retaliate by recalling its ambassadors from Dublin, Madrid and Oslo, and withholding vital funds from the Palestinian Authority....

Maybe his bedroom is just where be conducted his meetings… More hush payments will be necessary.

mightyfoolish ,

Republicans see whatever they want in their candidates. They even bend to them. I mean “who here has never paid for a prostitute?” Is now something they say to defend Trump. There are no values, their foundation is nothing but their own reflections, and there is no meeting them in the middle, they just move the goal post (which pretty much makes Democrats enablers).
