Israel Attacking West Bank Farms (www.npr.org)

The U.N. humanitarian affairs office has recorded 650 attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since Oct. 7, harming residents and property. It says settlers have killed at least nine Palestinians in the territory and Israeli security forces have killed more than 400 Palestinians in that time.

'Everyone in the World Needs to See This': Footage Shows IDF Drone Killing Gazans (www.commondreams.org)

Adding to the mountain of evidence that Israel is engaged in a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera on Thursday aired footage of what the news outlet reported was an Israeli drone targeting four Palestinians in Khan Younis last month....

People are replying to you because you are trying to downplay genocide. You also just called people getting mad at children dying as Hamas supporters. You are being obtuse.

I would love to see how wealth inequality was viewed (so if it was culturally acceptable) and distributed in older Indian governments.

I think Taiwan doing so well in the semiconductor space is a huge win for the region. I fear China attacking would put East Asians in a tough spot; especially if the foundries get destroyed.

Epic gives me free games and I still don’t like them… The “problem” is Valve is Steam-rolling the competition because people want to give them money.

mightyfoolish ,

Doesn’t Amazon have the same stipulation on every item listed on their site?

Edit: I think I misunderstood you here. I thought Amazon’s game division was complaining about Steam. That would have been very hypocritical.

mightyfoolish ,

I understand now and that does make sense. No point in undercutting your competition if you can’t pass those savings to the customers.

mightyfoolish ,

I’m hoping you’re not stuck seeing the ugly part of the voting process. I am curious of how often you had voting locations be hard to setup due to politicians not liking the demographics of the area? Do lots of volunteers see this or is it regulated to a small amount of places?

Obviously, ignore this if you don’t want to answer.

Thank you for your information. Hopefully voters show up.

Netanyahu snaps back against growing US criticism after being accused of losing his way on Gaza (apnews.com)

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu railed Sunday against growing criticism from top ally the United States against his leadership amid the devastating war with Hamas, describing calls for a new election as “wholly inappropriate.”...

At one point there were three Palestines.

What about the Nabeteans? The Nabeteans absorbed the Qederites and the Edomites (who made up Palestine south of Beersheba). They ruled till the Romans absorbed their kingdom late 1st century.

Edit: Also, it seems that the Nabatean royal family and the Idumean royal families seem to be related more than just the marriage of Harold Antipas.

Also, comtemparies of Jesus like Strabo thought the Idumeans were Nabeteans (the confusion makes sense when you reliaze all of the Canaanite Kingdoms (except Israel/Samaria) were absorbed by the Arabs by 400 BC.

My point is I consider Kingdom of Nabeteans to be mostly consisting of people who’s kingdoms already existed in the region of Palestine (the extremely similar Qederites along with the Edomites and Judahites). But I admit this can be a stretch since no one knows xactly where the Nabeteans came from.

I also have to find the article mentioning the Nabeteans absorbing the Edomites as too many sources suggest EVERY last Edomite moved to the area around Beersheba.

I have two problems with this. (1) Logically speaking that can’t be true. The guy who wrote the bulk of the Constitution was a Christian. Sure you can argue that the government had non-Christian voices like Jefferson but it’s not like the US had a Hindu majority (or something) at the time. (2) It would be easier to understand what went wrong with Evangelism and right wing media then to try to get the majority of the country to hate Christianity. Don’t divide the people over religion; you force them to live by their words.

Israel is an example of what a country shouldn’t be like.

mightyfoolish ,

May I ask who this is a quote from? Is this also Bin Laden?

mightyfoolish ,

Against lobbyists, thought killing was only justified in extreme conditions, was worried about climate change. These aren’t from the Bin Laden I have heard of…

Thank you for the link.

mightyfoolish ,

Except that Jordan is peaceful and in the Arabian/Gulf countries the government takes care of you instead of eradicating you…

mightyfoolish ,

If you don’t have human rights for a land’s native population; you are a country that infringes on human rights. It’s very simple. Plus, Palestine is a secular nation and it borders other secular nations like Lebanon (well at least the region of Palestine does). Unlike the country that believes in “old testament justice.”

Even in Jordan, which is NOT a secular country, as long as you don’t display physical affection in public (which is frowned upon on all groups) you’ll be fine. I have even heard of white gay people moving to Amman because they said the people there mind their own business (I can’t find the link to this anymore).

mightyfoolish ,

Yeah, because Israel doesn’t treat the West Bank and Gaza as trash.

mightyfoolish ,

The current government of Iran and Hamas are both reactions caused by US meddling in the Middle East. The CIA actively led a campaign to get Iranians to turn on a democratic government -> supported Reza Shah -> which lead to the 1979 revolution which established the current government.

mightyfoolish ,

Gay parides aren’t enough for me to consider Israelis humanitarians. Though it’s nice they allow gay people to adopt.

mightyfoolish , (edited )

So what should US do? Calmly sit down and shout: “We are bad, please kill us.”

Not build a country on land in use. If you can’t do that, at least leave them alone. Not a single West Bank city can develop anymore since it would just collide into the area near the settlements (which would lead to getting shot). At least leave them alone.

Also, what you are essentially doing is picking a specific point of time in history, dubbing a it a root cause and then you excuse the other side’s actions.

I’m not sure what you mean by this? Maybe you are confusing me with someone else?

Rome for the conflict in the middle east because if Romans hadn’t forced out jews thousands years ago, this wouldn’t have happened.

The Jews did come back already, a long time ago. Then they converted to Christianity and then to Islam: www.pbs.org/empires/romans/empire/jews.html

So all Israel’s war crimes are actually Romans’ fault, so now let’s collectively blame them.

This is technically anti-Semitic. Not all Jews are the same. Some are black, some are white, some are Middle Eastern.

mightyfoolish , (edited )

Edit: Ok, I think I replied to the wrong post.

If you can’t see that treating 10 to 15 million people is wrong (literally raping children) I don’t see why you are discussing the few gay couples with kids. What exactly is objectively better. Even before this October crap, at least one Palestinian child died per hour.

mightyfoolish ,

Last Ramadan they literally went around blowing up cars. The one before, I believe they were putting concrete mix into the well water (they actually did this but I can’t remember if this was an Israeli Ramadan tradition).

mightyfoolish ,

This isn’t religious. A bunch of trolls/liars came from Russia and Germany and said their ancestors left this land in the BC era.

Edit: These people also claim that the Palestinians are land Interlopers who came from some undisclosed part of Arabia.

I know therapists and other medical professionals. There is a push to let people see non physicians directly instead of needing a physician to refer you to the person who can obviously help you more.

mightyfoolish ,

Eventually backing the Dems will backfire. Look at a few things Biden as done in his term. They are becoming more and more right-wing every election.

  1. Agreed to Republican border plan
  2. Funds genocide and white supremacy
  3. Didn’t bring back Abortion rights
  4. Black kids still getting shot by police
  5. Housing still expensive
  6. Food still expensive

Either vote third party or Trump’s America becomes real (even if it takes a future Democrat or Republican to do it).

mightyfoolish ,

How are we not already on that path? The young people are even starting to give up. The job market is garbage, houses are unaffordable, health care is getting worse. When did all of you let the media trick you into not voting for a better future? It’s not like all negative human traits will cease to be the moment Trump dies…

mightyfoolish ,

It totally is. The robot is just an innocent week old bot and that older woman had no business grooming/training it.

mightyfoolish ,

Maybe this is state dependent? I have visited many trailer parks that have natural gas and electricity.

It’s funny because all of his recent ordeals is actually getting him to make more sense (even if it’s by accident). The other day he said something like black people can now identify WITH him now the government is systematically going after him. I can’t remember a former Republican president admit systematic racism is real. The narcissistic wording nearly made me laugh to death.

mightyfoolish ,

Quite a few people here initially thought the same thing. I don’t blame them, it’s not something people expect from Trump or any US president. Remembering that he views himself as innocent helps with getting the gist of his comment.

China wants to rid itself of Western tech by 2027 -- outlines domestic alternatives in 'Document 79' (www.tomshardware.com)

The WSJ reports that China is on an extensive push to drive out Western tech companies from the country and replace them with domestic alternatives. China reportedly started its domestic expansion in 2022 with a highly secretive “Document 79,” an initiative focused on deleting Western tech companies from the country. Since...

There are alternatives to Microsoft Excel. It’s just they don’t have great interoperability (which wouldn’t be a giant problem if said country banned Excel outright).

WPS is made by a Chinese company named Kingsoft.

People have forgotten that Bill Clinton won his second term by championing himself as having the best aspects of the Democrats and the Republicans (basically he called himself the Hannah Montana of politics) and Hillary Clinton believed abortion was a states’ right issue (the mess we have today).

Unfortunately the web has become a place where you need to download ublock origin and learn to block specific elements.

It does get too complicated for my tastes. Sometimes you have to right click elements and block them manually. Sometimes you have to create a filter or you lose scrolling like on this site:

All right centrists (or perhaps undercover white supremacists?), at what point do you call Isreal a monster your support helped to create?

mightyfoolish ,

To be fair to the old testament it’s not factual history. Those no proof of a Unified Kingdom of Israel and no proof for any of Joshua’s conquests. Even though we have evidence of much older kingdoms in the area such as Yamhad.

If anything the old testament has history reversed. In 722 BC the Assyrians destroy Israel (circa 1000 BC with capital always in Shechem). The refugees move to Judah (circa 900 BC). The Israelites took their religion and rebased it on Jerusalem AFTER Israel got sacked. This means a “Jewish” identity for Israel could not have taken off until the 600 BCs at the earliest. 4000 years of Judaism history my 🍑.

Maccabee came in the 200 BCs and forced people into what we now call Judaism. The reason why a complete Bible cannot be found from the BC era is because the Bible wasn’t finished yet.

  • The oldest fragment of the old testament says that the mountain around Shechem is the holy place.
  • The Bible says that a lot of the Judahites were bad but all of the Samaritans are bad.

Perhaps she has “Hypochondria?” Who knows how many people/lives in her life that was affected by COVID. At least this article provides some confirmation that she isn’t hurting herself.

mightyfoolish ,

That’s a fair point. Unfortunately, there is still plenty of posts of antivax people dying from deaths that could have been prevented. Which coincides with the fact that the platform is incredibly anitivax in the first place.

I personally don’t understand the tattoo reference here but have an up vote anyways. 🤷‍♀️

Wow, considering the headline I really should have gotten the reference. 😔 Thank you.

That is pretty annoying. I’m thinking of buying a new GPU myself. My Internet also runs off PCIE so I could go through the same thing as well? I wish I had another GPU to try this out.

I did look it up, it seems to come from the way BIOS names resources. Im surprised software such as Network Manager does not pick up on stuff like this.
