It was never about RTO or Productivity. It was all about getting people to quit to reduce the bottom line. Otherwise they would have had layoffs and would have looked bad and cost more money in severance. It’s all just trying to save money.

TheKracken ,

Just setup Mint last night and have been troubleshooting how to get everything to work. So far I’m liking it. Last thing I setup was Lutris for gaming so that’s nice.

Ah I assume Ubuntu based since I just downloaded the latest from the mint website. Still learning about Linux so not 100% sure.

TheKracken ,

Thanks this was the worst but I laughed.

TheKracken ,

I hope you’re a troll. That’s just next level stupidity to be real.

TheKracken ,

Literally this. My father in law got me some wire shorts for a riding mower I own that disabled the seat detection and backwards motion detectors that turn off the mower blade. I asked him if he ever had an issue with those features and he said they were annoying, but also he fell off the mower once and almost got run over. Just because you feel safe doesn’t mean you are.

TheKracken ,

Don’t argue with idiots.

TheKracken ,

This is how you do experiments. Double blind all the way.

TheKracken ,

Some go karts have 2 seats and that’s ok.

By making a root level comment you were exclusively responding to OP. So yes you were.

In an acting class. I didn’t notice her but she noticed me. Next class she switched from dressing tom boyish to more feminine and I noticed her. 20 years later and we just had our second kid.

Introducing the Smart Pipe. Smart Pipe is a registered sex offender.

TheKracken ,

Same. I’ve had mine for about 2- 2&1/2 years with my pixel 6 pro and it has held up 100%

Like so much I think this is the reason these buffoons want to succeed. Then they can claim it as their own.

TheKracken ,

Yeah but like leave America, not Texas. That’s ours. Leave to Russia or some other authoritarian shit hole.

TheKracken ,

I don’t know why but I always get stuck around the spirit temple and have to look up wtf to do. This has happened every playthrough and you’d think I’d remember it. Good luck!

TheKracken ,

HP printers and the software with them sucks ass. Never again. Bought a brother laser printer and shit just works without any bullshit.

What games would you suggest that have LAN support these days?

While PC may be one's first thought here, I'd also be really interested in any mobile games that might leverage one's local wifi network for multiplayer.

Classics are a-okay for suggestion too, btw!

Factorio, Terraria, Civilization, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Street Fighter

It’s called the Cobra Effect. India put a bounty on cobras and people started breeding them making the problem worse.

TheKracken ,

I finally tried this game and holy shit is it terrible. The UI is janky and unintuitive. The movement is slow and stiff or sonic on crack and nothing in-between. The frame rate is terrible even on a decent machine with appropriate settings. Just overall a bad experience. I don’t care if it’s still “In development” get your fundamentals right before you go adding more shit.

Nah, Soda is better. Use Soda!

I’m having a daughter at the end of April. We plan on calling her Dylan. You should name him Dylan then they would have a random stranger twin situation.

It seems like from what I’ve seen they have evacuated the town and should be relatively safe if it does erupt. That being said it’s a tragedy if it does erupt and they lose the town. They have already had pretty major infrastructure damage and would take a ton to restore the town if this passes. Lots of people have already lost their homes and I hope the best for them all.

TheKracken ,

Yeah but that’s a large percentage of Iceland if you consider the long term possibility of eruption in human terms. This town has already experienced massive earthquakes that have destroyed homes and infrastructure. It would take a huge amount of effort and money to fix an area that’s unstable.

PatricianTV is one of the best long form video game essay writers out there. Really understands the topic they are talking about. Would recommend watching all his content if you like the format.

It’s easy you just buy three times the current hardware, and just cycle it. Obviously that’s more efficient. /s

TheKracken ,

Ain’t gunna happen. No job is safe. Been laid off 5 or 6 times in my career with “safe” jobs

TheKracken ,

Like you eat the core as well or that you pop the whole apple in your mouth?

TheKracken ,

Same. I’ve got a basic nano brewery at this point. I just wish I had more time to actually brew.

Just got my first entry level gaming pc! i have about 30 bucks to spend, what should i get for it?

I have all my hardware set up, including a new chair. MineCraft and baulders gate 3, terraria, and some freebies are my only games so far. I have a massive console and physical game collection that I love, so I’m really just looking for things that are definitively better on pc, only on pc, or software that I may not know...

As someone with almost 1400 hrs in Factorio, I agree.

YSK that restroom hand dryers blow fecal bacteria onto your hands (journals.asm.org)

There was a peer-reviewed report published in the journal for Applied and Environmental Microbiology that studied the amount of bacteria that was blown from hand dryers in 36 public restrooms at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. The sample from the study concluded that as many as 60 colonies of bacteria were...

I thought it was mostly the gaseous molecules some of the bacteria on poo emits that’s landing in your nose, not the poo itself.
