If we forced airlines to honor rescheduling for not a huge cost then this wouldn't be as much of an issue. But I imagine those thousands in ticket prices can't really be burned without canceling the trip for the foreseeable future.

100%? Impossible. But they can effectively ban it.

Pass a law that makes any US company, or company doing business in the US, not allowed to host E2EE-enabled apps. This now bans them from the App Store and Play Store. 99% of users won't find or choose to side-load for android users. Then they can make E2EE actually illegal to distribute in the US. They'll almost never bother going after individuals, but this effectively makes hosting a US-based website unable to distribute E2EE programs. So people will need to use foreign sites. Which the US can force ISPs to block via a whack-a-mole on individual sites.

This isn't very likely, but hell Congress was decently close to banning TikTok for no real reason so who knows?

It's not an electron version. Foundry the program IS electron. When you run the executable, it's running electron (chromium). This also makes Foundry run like crap in non-chromium browsers and isn't recommended.

Because there isn't perspective of a photon. It doesn't experience because it doesn't change like mass does.

I was using the wrong term. Photons don't have a frame of reference.

But even from the colloquial definition, photons don't have perspective. They don't live and die because they never experience time. If you had their point of view, your beginning and end would happen simultaneously, meaning you wouldn't experience anything. They are immutable particles whose only interactions are emission and absorption.

Because we know how different things emit photons. We know a light bulb emits photons in all directions because we can move around and measure it. And we can see the photons being emitted from objects receiving the initial light bulb's light as well so we know it's emitting light in that direction as well.

The idea that photons are only emitted if they hit something also doesn't make sense because of power usage and how we know particle physics work.

People always says "cosmetics are fine". They aren't. Cosmetics are gameplay. Humans love looking cool. They NEED it a lot of the time. The entire fashion industry wouldn't exist if looking cool wasn't a major part of human psyche. These MTX wouldn't sell if it wasn't. Locking all or most of the interesting looks behind additional paywalls is bullshit. And it's not OK. I don't engage with games that do that. There's plenty to play that don't abuse their customers.

Food prices have skyrocketed and people still go out to eat. What you are proposing is austerity. I don't really get this argument. Titillation occasionally is nice. Similar to prestige shows. But if it was soft-core all the time or too much, people would lose interest in the plot.
That and there's quite a few decent porn games now. Ones that look better in the...dongles than BG3 does. Ones with decent stories. If people want interactive porn, it's there already. And oftentimes cheap or free.

It depends what the device supports. It's on Apple to implement the standard to the fullest extent the device can utilize. If they don't implement fast charging, that's on them. There was a lot of complaints when the Nintendo Switch came out because they didn't implement all the features.

Not a huge trek fan. Watched some TOS in syndication in HS. Watched disco, Lower Decks, and started Brave New Worlds recently. The only government I can really recall are tribunals and starfleet which seems to be a council. Do they often talk over overarching Federation government proceedings? I mean, it's definitely a utopia if just for the post-scarcity.

USSR and China aren't really communist countries. They are, at best, revisionist. They are command economies with state-capitalism and authoritarian rulers that definitely have different social classes. While USSR ostensibly got rid of personal property, that just entailed the authoritarian owning everything. Both countries lied to the people to get a socialist revolution started and then seized all power for their party (which don't exist in communism).
