Been on Bazzite myself since the F38 Beta.

I havenā€™t had to so much as perform a rollback even once on my AMDxAMD desktop.

In fact the upgrade from versions isnā€™t even a worry anymore.

I played some games, turned off my computer at the Fedora 40 launch and magically it upgraded to Bazzite 40 the next time I booted up, with 0 effort on my part.

Microsoft and Sony force them to develop for the lowest spec gen, so no you cannot play on your PS5/X whatever because PS4 and One X cannot run new game engine.

They were never more than 20% of the player base.

I managed to get Photoshop CS6 installed on Lutris, using the script on their site. The problem is however, that whenever I open a file (doesnā€™t matter if it is jpg, png, psd, etc.) the screen remains black. I can see the picture in the Layer thumbnail, but not in the main work-area. Does anyone know what the problem might be?...

I made a write up of Universal Blue when itā€™s Kinoite-main image was still in beta for Fedora 38, before Bazzite was out:

Since then Iā€™ve never had to rollback. I only rebased from Kinoite-main 38 to Bazzite 38 when it came out. And using the -lastest tag auto upgraded me to Bazzite 39 when it came out.

So easy peasy.

Think of Atomic Desktops like Chromebooks or modern Android 14/15 with 1/2 or A/B partitions.

Canā€™t really mess it up because you canā€™t mess with much of it.

If you end up needing to layer many rpm ostree packagesā€¦you could always flatten em right into your image, no more layering.

If you wanna customize Atomic Fedora images to be your own consider:

But between Flatpaks and Distrobox exporting of apps and now Nix/Fleek thereā€™s so many ways to install things in containers.

If you want a KDE Fedora powered experience I definitely have to suggest Universal Blue Kinoite-main or Bazzite-Desktop. šŸ¤Ÿ

Universal Blue project is OCI RPM OSTREE container native, atomic Fedora.

Silverblue/Kinoite/Serica/Onyx, but with extra batteries+codecs+hardware acceleration out of the box.

Mostly itā€™s about using room temp water in the pot.

If you use hot water, thinking they will cook faster, thatā€™s the step that will make them gluey for sure.

So start them off in room temp water.

I prefer unpeeled Red Bliss šŸ„” myself.

I simmer some milk or cream and butter with some roasted garlic for the real goodness.

Bigger potatoes, chunk em into quarter size.

Definitely peel starchy potatoes.

Waxy ones like Red Bliss or Golden/New Potatoes, I leave the skin on for nutrients/nutrition.

And donā€™t let them sit in the water after for too long, at least drain them first if you arenā€™t gonna mash right away before serving.
