As I expected most people could not give concrete examples of what fascism would look like for them. I prompted over 20 times to push people to focus on their own community. Few could. A handful of people finally stated what would happen to others in their community but because of their white privilege that would not bear the brunt of of it . 1/6

Why does it matter that you couldn’t make it concrete? Because with the elections just around the corner, if you are running around 24/7 talking about fascism is coming, it won’t mean anything to most Americans who are like you. Listen to the people in your towns. What is worrying them? Talk about that...at the end you can give them the definition of fascism if you have to...but don’t start there. 5/6

My mom tries to #bluetooth pair her smart watch and her phone. But every time she enters the correct validation code in her phone, the watch denies the #pairing.

I encountered a similar problem with smart jewels. The app would only connect the device to BT after validation from a database on the manufacturers website. Since it was closed down connection has become impossible and our stock of jewels is scrap.
Treated myself to a new book today. I would never have discovered it if it hadn't been for the wonderful @neilhimself . Can't wait to start reading it but I have The Dark Is Rising sequence to finish first. #Bookstodon#Books
@Yorkslass70@neilhimself I love all of Zelazny's work but A Night in the Lonesome October is one of my favorites! I got to hear him read the whole thing to us at a Con over three nights. Every so often he would stop and make notes in the manuscript he was reading from.
I have several friends who read this every October chapter-by-chapter, day-by-day; I don't have that level of discipline; if I start it, it's getting finished same day!
Zelazny was a very underrated writer; I sometimes think he's omitted a lot in libraries, who always seem to have a lot of Asimov, simply because of his alphabetical positioning.
@ayo I believe kbin's magazines function exactly like this, where each one has it's own separate timeline of microblog posts. Posts can be made directly to a magazine from kbin or collected from elsewhere in the fediverse based on a list of hashtags the magazine's moderator curates.

My weighted blanket helps, but I think something with a great texture would be a good addition. Thank you for sharing what works for you and also for helping me brainstorm!
As a Google user it feels like terrible timing to be cutting costs by getting rid of the people who give feedback on whether search results are good or not.
One of the primary causes is "Rigging the game".
On a playing field with unequal rules, you can't win. No matter how hard you work. Change the rules to be more fair. At least then you do have a chance.

“At this point, it is fair to conclude that ADHD Studies is an acritical and non intersectional field, produced by non-ADHDers. What we need is critical and intersectional ADHD knowledge produced by ADHDers themselves.”

I was just talking to my partner who is adhd as well fmg grad..tech writer…we have learned so much from the community.
Hopefully we can attain some workable solutions as a team that understands some of the hurdles, perhaps help contribure to pave the way to an inclusive diverse landscape!

Which flavor of #neurodivergent is inability to feel belonging to any group? I think, I finally got why I don’t get that #gender thing. Basically, a gender is just another cohort, with some assumed properties. A group one feels belonging to. And I have never felt as a part of any group. I never fit in. Each cohort is supposed to have certain properties, and I just never have all. I just feel like impostor in any, including any gender/sexuality groups, including #agender#queer#nd#AuDHD
@btaroli@actuallyautistic@olena I just had a flash of an image of being able to interact with everyone primarily with ZERO sexual-orientation baggage and just as individuals and then seeing how that soul connection does or doesn’t develop on its own before even getting to the intimate options…and that image felt wonderful ❤️

I agree. There isn't a real alternative to wordpress. Both wordpress.com and self hosted #WordPress are options I use for various activities.
