What do you do when you have reached a ‘reading block’? I have a small primer to read and have no motivation whatsoever to complete it. I must add that I have also just finished a seven hundred odd page philosophy book.

So questions of the day!
I generally like to ask this of older or experienced people in life.
Disclaimer a fun post, so if you troll it at least make it relevant
If today was your last day alive. #spring
In a paragraph or phrase what do you feel is the most important message to pass on to future generations?
I’ve thought about it for awhile. How would you choose, or prioritize a paragraph or so on the most important message for them that you value personally?!!🙏🥰
In everything I have ever heard about the Fall of Rome, is that its collapse, and I know this did not happen overnight, much happened before Rome itself was sacked is it is never associated with mass starvation etc.
Certainly the headline/marquee notion of an imploded empire is not correct, but its disintegration did not mean regional economies imploded
So can I lure a historian to tell us a tale regarding the disposition of what had been the empire?
Most of Plant Science Twitter seems to be on Bluesky. What are your favorite Fediverse accounts (institutional and/or personal) for keeping up with academic botanical news? #Botany#AskFedi@plantscience@academicchatter
What online multiplayer games play well over wifi/higher latency?
I'm thinking turn-based games may work okay in this respect, but which of those might you recommend besides Civ? Also what other types of games work better over wifi/higher latency than you might expect?
I know ideally you'd simply wire up your system to not have to fuss with either, but it's not always an option in some circumstances.
I want to start logging my books and reading. I find Goodreads very difficult to use. What do you use to keep track of and 'share' your reading log? Of course, it's possible to have a page on my website or just a .txt file somewhere. But how fun is that? I want to see what others are reading and share my incredibly bad taste!
Does Playnite have a year in review setting/feature?
Seeing some of the Steam year in review posts here & there made me wonder if Playnite has a feature like this stowed away somewhere. Another more offline app I use for music has it to where you can share an image of your most played music from the past year, so I'd think similar might be possible with Playnite.
First time I’ve seen this bot. I would be interested in learning how to cross-post from #kbin to #Lemmy in a way that preserves the original username the way this bot did. Is that possible without 3rd party tools? I can login to a Lemmy instance and then crosspost any Kbin thread to a Lemmy community, but then the author becomes myself, not the original Kbin author.
I’m not even willing to visit shields·io¹ because it’s a Cloudflare site.
If so, it might be worth adding the badges to the sidebars.
I would oppose cluttering the sidebar with 100+ stats. Ideally there would be just 1 line:
subscribers: 310/30.6K (local/fed)
If someone wants subscribers per instance detail, that should require some deep clicking around or a dedicated site that keeps track of that.
BTW, #Lemmy has lemmyverse.net (though I think the subscriber counts are misleading there too). What does #Kbin have for finding communities… anyone know? #askFedi

note that I raised the dot (.) to (·) so as to discourage visits and so my msg does not add to the search engine rankings of a Cloudflare site.
When /some/ YT videos get special download-resistent treatment but not others (fedia.io)
For example, this invidious instance offers a download option for a YoutTube video, as that instance does for all YT videos:...
Your communities might be a lot larger than you think!
