Ok Boomer?

lud , in Seriously how many times does this have to happen

Fun fact: if you search for “removed key” or something similar in GitHub you will get thousands of results of people removing accidentally committed keys. I’m guessing the vast majority of those removed keys haven’t been revoked.

PenisWenisGenius , in Seriously how many times does this have to happen

I just commit and push the entire contents of my home folder and let people figure it out for themselves

stoy ,

Do the characters even have morse code assigned to them?

morgunkorn ,
@morgunkorn@discuss.tchncs.de avatar

I found those:

<span style="color:#323232;">Underscore		. . _ _ . _
</span><span style="color:#323232;">Addition		. _ . _ .
</span><span style="color:#323232;">Subtraction		_ . . . . _
</span><span style="color:#323232;">Multiplication		_ . . _
</span><span style="color:#323232;">Division		_ _ _ . . .
</span><span style="color:#323232;">Equal			_ . . . _
</span><span style="color:#323232;">Right Parenthesis	_ . _ _ . _
</span><span style="color:#323232;">Left Parenthesis	_ . _ _ .
</span>

But this isn’t enough for programming, square and curly brackets, carets, ampersand, pipe, tilda… I think it’s gonna be pretty challenging

Please delete the .m. from the Wikipedia link so it’s correct for desktop users.

Ok

JackGreenEarth ,

Thanks!

14th_cylon ,

What if desktop users delete it themselves, if they don’t like it?

JackGreenEarth ,

The default link redirects for mobile automatically, it doesn’t work the other way around.

14th_cylon ,

Ok, that’s fair point, but it still isn’t other people’s job to serve you links just how you like them.

cheddar ,
@cheddar@programming.dev avatar

Can’t you extend it by adding extra bits? Though typing them would be problematic as the length will be growing too.

morgunkorn ,
@morgunkorn@discuss.tchncs.de avatar

It would be a blow to render this typing method slightly slower, definitely a deal breaker 😏

Turun ,

C is so old, it has a way to work around that! In case your 198x keyboard was not set to ASCII you know. Not sure if Morse covers all the characters needed for the replacement trigraphs though.

the hinges disliked that

well, he chose machine with metallic hinges, but still…

All the hinges I’ve seen were metallic, what fails most of the time is the metal->plastic interface

PenisWenisGenius , in Writing documentation

I don’t write documentation because all my shit is always so broken that the source code and error messages are the documentation.

Yes but IMO the merge conflict PPV would work and be awesome, and the straight-up bribery already works.
