I realize this is a case of a foreign person committing fraud to get into an American university, but I honestly thought going into it that kids are that desperate to pay for college these days without taking out punishing loans. And I’m sure there are American kids desperate enough to commit fraud for that purpose too.
Remember when SCOTUS threw out laws against gays? Then a bunch of states passed constitutional amendments against gay marriage? Then SCOTUS came and said “Na, none of that means anything, gay marriage for all!”
I feel like I am on the other side of that process this time: SCOTUS throws out Roe, bunch of states do constitutional amendments, SCOTUS rules “Na, none of that means anything, all abortions are now illegal!”

While the Bible contains each of these concepts in both the Hebrew and Christian scriptures, it does not seem that Christian and Jewish texts were the intended target of the ban, but rather books written by queer or Black authors.
So what, if those are the absurd rules that have passed they should be applied. If your special book meets the criteria sounds like a good reason not to have such a law in the first place.

Which is a hilarious Freudian slip on their part. Who is it that they think don’t want to teach about the Civil War? Could it be the ones who instead refer to it as the “war of northern aggression” and try to erase the context of slavery by saying it was about “states rights”?
