To be totally fair to Drumph, he hasn’t had a guest spot on “My 600 lb Life,” yet. There are clearly bigger American Idiots out there. He can’t even be the biggest idiot, especially with those tiny baby hands.
Lemmy cares about the number of newlines between paragraphs. If you want to have a new paragraph, you need to have at least one extra newline between the two paragraphs. Or else, Lemmy will treat it as a single paragraph.
What’s to stop an American company from hiring overseas workers to write their American software? This is fairly common practice in the industry, and would expose similar security concerns.
Setting aside the point that there’s no reason that it’d be more profitable to do work domestically, there’s no general restriction on overseas software production. This is specific to China.
The proposed legislation would make it easier to mandate an audit on code in the future. The US can’t enforce laws on other countries. China is probably the only large car producer that would sell cars in the US and resit such an audit.
If China makes dangerous self driving cars, they will be very difficult to investigate.
Police dogs should be abolished. They only exist to intimidate people and give police a free pass to violate the rights of people by giving them an excuse to search people that is somehow not considered bullshit despite being as reliable as a dowsing rod.
Sucks that this one died because the police couldn’t even take care of their job pet.
They’re not even good for search-and-rescue? I remember them getting out the dogs to look for lost hikers with decent results but maybe that’s just us mountain people shit. You’re on the money about the aggression / intimidation stuff though.
A friend of my mom’s used to train dogs for search and rescue and he became an fbi agent. He had great success stories about his dogs working along the waterways in eastern Tennessee.
Search and Rescue dogs are generally owned and trained by specialized dog trainers, not the cops. The scent-tracking skills for following people are differently trained from drug and explosives detecting dogs Basically a search dog needs to walk towards and follow what they smell, and a detecting dog needs to sit down when they catch a smell so they have different training methods.
Source; Hung out with Search and Rescue dog trainers and listened to them carefully not directly talk shit about the police dogs.
Trump isn’t. Some garbage site “Right Side Broadcasting Network” that is streaming the rally is. But same same.
Edit: I went to the site. They are offering 8 prescription meds, mostly antibiotics, including ivermectin and an emergency use pamphlet. I swear to god they are trying to add to the untreatable bacterial infection list.

Cool. Let me know when I can buy a gallon of milk with it next week and it will cost approximately the same amount as it does this week so I have an incentive to actually use it as a currency and not just an investment opportunity.
It’s not an investment. There is no lending or business plan involved. Speculation would be more appropriate term.
People should be able to have long term savings without playing the wallstreet casino. Gold and real estate has been used for cross generational wealth transfer in the past, but using houses to store wealth brings it’s own set of problems.
Unfortunately, the way institutional investors has been trading bitcoin lately made its price copy the traditional high risk stocks, which is the reason I’ve been so pissed about regulators allowing large institutions to touch it. While I believe this will be of no consequence in long term, in short term it’s pretty annoying.
I don’t think you understand what ‘investment’ means since it has nothing to do with lending or business plans. It’s literally what you’re talking about.
