These companies were never our allies, fair weather opportunists only willing to say they value us so long as it costs them nothing. I remember the few businesses that would openly support lgbt causes back in the early 90s back when public support was not on our side. These cowardly corpos today get a tiny whiff of fascist whining and immediately throw us under the nearest bus.
Why hasn’t the mayor released the full body cam footage yet? If they are going to release statements but withhold material evidence we should assume they are doing it to manipulate public opinion against the facts.
It’s more common that dependents who are receiving the benefits don’t register the death to keep the payments flowing. I personally think a lot of places could be much more generous with poverty assistance instead of forcing those folks to keep the pensions flowing to garner aide.
It’s got to be driving him absolutely nuts that the second shooter is also a presumably christian, straight, white, man. Anything else and he could work with it. White woman? Women are too emotional and shouldn’t be trusted to make important decisions. Black man? Go-go all out on the racism. Brown skinned? Anti immigration fear mongering. Trans or gay? Groomer nonsense. Anything other than Christian and he could fearmonger about their foreign religions.
Literally the only identity he can’t exploit is christian, straight, white men and they’re the ones who keep trying to kill him.

Actually, that’s easy.
It got this bad because our system is so warped and corrupt that most politicians can no longer even pretend to run on policies and principles. If they get elected, they’re going to do one and only one thing - they’re going to serve the interests of the wealthy individuals and corporations that pay them the fattest bribes. They obviously can’t run on a promise to do that, but they can’t promise to do anything else because they’re not going to do anything else. So they run on hatred and fear - they run on things like “ELECT US BECAUSE THE IMMIGRANTS ARE EATING YOUR PETS!!”
