It sounds like you want to hurt these women.

“Hello, ChatGPT. if you don’t mind could you tell us about Tampon Tim?”

Trump and Vance have no plan to fix one of America's biggest crises (www.motherjones.com)

Conservative opposition to social safety nets is nothing new. But, as daycare costs continue to soar and the US Surgeon General warns that parents are dangerously overwhelmed, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle appear to agree that at least something needs to be done to help address the crisis....

darvocet ,

Come on dude wake the fuck up. If three kids die at the daycare on the corner you’ll know not to take your kids there. It’s the free market and it absolutely works.

I wonder if they have a VIP service. I’m sure that would be safe.

Suspects in foiled plot to attack Taylor Swift show aimed to kill 'tens of thousands' (abcnews.go.com)

The suspects in the foiled plot to attack Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna earlier this month sought to kill “tens of thousands” of fans before the CIA discovered intelligence that disrupted the planning and led to arrests, the agency’s deputy director said....

The CIA still has her red handkerchief and the Director still smells it to be reminded of their time together.

They are mostly made by our defense contractors - Raytheon, Halliburton, lockeed Martin, etc.

It’s more about getting the republicans on record with a vote on a clean bill. Hard to campaign when you voted no on voting rights.

PM me. I need info on the royal blue ink. I think the documents i sent in were signed in cobalt blue and i got no response! Office Depot appears to only have “blue”. Please help.

darvocet ,

It’s usually folks with suspended licenses who google workarounds it seems.

darvocet ,

This really tripped me out and took me a minute to tell what was happening.

darvocet ,

That season pissed me off so bad. So fucking crazy that shit is happening and nothing is being done about it. I highly advise anyone who hasn’t heard it to go play - i couldn’t stop listening once i started.

darvocet ,

I had to pause reading and make sure that this was represented in the comments. Carrying on.

darvocet ,

… I’m gonna need about three fiddy.

Semi interesting story. Was driving my exwife around the city and noted how the color tint on one of the buildings as cool. It was a checkerboard pattern or something in different shades of blue/green. She couldn’t see it and said it was “glass colored”. She couldn’t really get how the glass was tinted a color.

Anyways printed out a handful of these and yep, she had partial color blindness. That’s how she found out.

darvocet ,

That’s interesting!! I don’t know! We went to the eye doctor and they confirmed (she didn’t totally believe me). She wasn’t in contact with her father and I don’t know if she ever discussed it with her mom or sister.

It’s just unoriginal thinking. What does every business want? Lots of cash that comes in automatically on a known schedule. How can we do that? Have our customers subscribe. What will they subscribe for? Hmm lifetime speakers? Lifetime cable replacement?

Side note business idea: subscription usb power bricks. We send you a variety of cables that work for everything. If one breaks we send you another. $30/yr

Never worry about broken cables again!

darvocet ,

You start at $30 which is plenty for the product. Hell the single yearly supply shouldn’t cost that much. Then overtime you slowly increase and changed rates for new subscribers.

Eventually you’ll have to implement location locks - can’t ship cables to more than one addresss. Plus you really don’t want people sharing or giving out cables to friends - so maybe the cables need to be smart and somehow phone home?

That would be nice cause then we could capture some user data and maybe target some advertising

darvocet ,

OMG we need to stop. It’s gotten too real now. The only saving graces are that this is a day old post on Lemmy and so venture capitalists are unlikely to still see it.

But damned if I don’t think Anker could make something out of this.

darvocet ,

This is what one should expect from someone obsessed with crocs.

darvocet ,

Based on my knowledge gained by watching multiple space station related movies there are several emergency escape capsules up there, so they aren’t technically stranded until those don’t work also.

darvocet ,

This is the most fucked up thing they have ever come out and admitted.

darvocet ,

Also a classic. Gotta love the hypocrisy.

darvocet ,

This photo is like 40 years old so yea that tends to happen.

darvocet ,

This is pretty much my favorite animal.

darvocet ,

Best to throw that away. Good job keeping it from affecting the performance of your pc.

darvocet ,

I see people climbing these and that ladder thing in the sky across two rocks and it just does not compute in my brain. I have zero interest in even being near those items. People who do have a literal death wish.

darvocet ,

Dude, excuse you - I’m NOT interested. Sick fuck.

The people of Houston (the nations fourth largest city) who are served by CenterPoint Energy are largely democratic. Although you aren’t wrong.

darvocet ,

Yes, this was my point.

darvocet ,

Speculation on my part but i think it’s the same thing as Boeing really. They didn’t have any real competition for so long and they started cutting out the engineers who innovated to improve stock price.

darvocet ,

For my pain?

darvocet ,

It’s sad I’ve had to boycott their music.

darvocet ,

I don’t give them the streaming plays. I’ll enjoy it if i hear it organically.

darvocet ,

Sadly the tech just cannot advance that fast.

darvocet ,

Did he have an Indian accent?

darvocet ,

Op is gone because he’s at Walmart buying gift cards to get his mortgage going.

darvocet ,

Uh, no. Consumers don’t care at all. Executives and marketing folks are the ones that have decided that it has to be in there.

darvocet ,

Is it almost our collective birthday?

darvocet ,

Uhh how could you have seen it, it’s brand new?

Networking Gear Recommendations? (starting from scratch)

Hi, I hope its appropriate to ask this here, considering this is the most active community closest to this topic (Networking). I am moving places shortly and will need to start from scratch will all networking equipment. Including router and wifi-extenders. Am wondering what the general consencus is around networking gear, what...

From the top:

  • Dream Machine Pro Max - This has two HDDs but I’m not using them. I have redundant internet sources, 1G Cable and 2G Fiber. The dream machine can fail over between them.
  • 2U Patch Panel
  • POE-Enterprise 48 - This is connected via SFP+ 10G to the Dream Machine and is where every device in the network plugs in.
  • UNVR - This has 4x 14TB HDDs and is where the cameras record. That covers more than 2 months of constant recording at 4K on the cameras - which are all connected and powered by the switch. This connects via SFP+ to the switch.
  • Unifi Remote Power - This is like a redundant power source for the switches and stuff so if the power supply failed this would pick up.
  • Unifi Power Strip - everything is plugged in here, you can toggle the ports and stuff on and off which I don’t do.

There’s a bunch of other stuff in the rack multiple piholes and little intel nuc servers doing stuff. Redundant piholes is a nice addition to the network though once you get going.
