Hey now there’s nothing weird about being completely unable to focus under fluorescent lights.

qaz ,

For me it can be the opposite, I often focus better with artificial light than with sunlight.

FeelThePower ,
@FeelThePower@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

me and a friend were talking recently about how we function better at night and summer takes that away. so, a few days ago I covered my window with a blanket which blacked out the window, and use only my lava lamp for light. it has been the most productive, multitasking filled era for me so far.

r0ertel ,

I learned recently that not everyone can see the fluorescent flicker. It’s unnerving and feels a bit like being buzzed on caffeine. It’s not so bad in the offices with indirect lighting. Also, cheap LED lights can flicker. I clung to my incandescent lights until they all burnt out.

yokonzo OP ,

Wait they can’t? Although now that I think about it, there’s certain cheap LED lights that I can see the flicker and my girlfriend cant

psud ,

It’s supposed to be common that people can catch the flicker in the corner of their eye

yokonzo OP ,

I mean I’ve had her stare at it with me for a couple of minutes and she was adamant she couldn’t see what I saw, i had to take out my phone camera and show her the frame rate flickering

Basically, don’t make definitive statements about things you don’t understand. Just try to be as helpful as you can with the knowledge you have.

It also helps if you’re not struggling with a narcissistic personality disorder that causes you to make definitive statements in the first place.

@NutWrench@lemmy.world avatar

Well, since the billionaire class doesn’t pay it’s fair share of the tax burden, that money has to come from somewhere.

ryathal ,

This is a popular thought, but even if we take 100% from the billionaires it pays for almost one year for the US.

TheOakTree ,

Now imagine if we had taken 30-40% from billionaires every single year… hmm…

ryathal ,

We could have a couple year of almost not having a deficit.

RogueAozame ,

While I understand what assumption you’re running under no one said for only billionaires to pay. The idea is progressive tax brackets the less you make the less you pay percentage wise. We also need less loopholes for the people that can buy lawyers and manipulate their funds to get out of paying what they should. There is no reason companies and the extremely wealthy should be paying an effectively less tax percentage than the diminishing lower middle class.

ryathal ,

It’s not about only billionaires paying, it’s about them not being a magical money source. A higher rate might feel better, but it’s not solving government revenue problems.

RogueAozame ,

It will not suddenly balance the budget but it is funding that will either reduce the deficit, or reduce the burden on poorer people. We can’t fix decades of poor decisions with one good decision, it’s simply a good decision we can make now that will help.

That’s on average 57 per day, or 3.5 per hour if we assume 16 hours a day awake. Seems likely he just automated the process somehow, or that multiple people were making reports under his name. Or he was just submitting a report every 17 waking minutes for the entire year. Who knows.

HonkTonkWoman ,

What if he was preemptively planning his complaints? You know, studying flight paths, departures, & arrivals, then just delivering 57 unique complaints each day with one phone call?

“Look… I know Quantus 617 leaves for Houston at 5:45, the 974 at 3, 452 goes at 4:12, & the 889 heads out at 9pm.

Yep, that’s right.

Uh huh.

Yes I fucking know it’s only 8am. Those flights WILL be too loud & I expect you to take my complaints immediately!”

GregorGizeh ,

Doesnt seem unreasonable, we have people here on lemmy who post and comment more than 100 times each day, also over a whole year. And I dont mean bots

Zangoose , in new wolf

KoalaUnknown ,

But now they are creeper proof

authorinthedark ,

yes it can be dyed, and it dyes like leather armor so it’s got a wide color spectrum

anas ,

People don’t fight with their dogs because they die too easily, that’s what they’re fixing.

Zangoose ,
Tlaloc_Temporal ,

I feel like letting pets/horses respawn sitting at pet beds/hay bales would massively increase their useage. You’d still have to go back home if you want to keep exploring with them, but not you can have some investment without easily losing everything.

Some smarter AI that actively avoids lava and cactus would be nice. Retreating when hurt could be good too.

OneWomanCreamTeam ,

It’s great for having them in your base. The little outfit is so cute, and yes. You can dye it.
