Feed the Deep - swim down the depths to haul resources back, so you can upgrade your air tank etc. Super chill vibe, but has some really cool mechanics with the environment and enemies that you come across which make survival much more difficult.

I had a Sony Xperia something for years, no case. Then I upgraded to a Samsung and gave my Sony to my mum. She cracked the back of it almost immediately lol

The only thing a bit shitty was the Settings. It was like a mile long, not sure if it had search or not. Was a long time ago.

You can’t take any distro and not have trouble with Nvidia drivers.

That may have been true over 10 years ago but that isn’t the case anymore. There are plenty of distros that support it OOTB, there are also some helper scripts available as well if that’s your thing.

Anecdotally, I’ve had more issues with AMD (performance and reliability).

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

I’m not saying people don’t have issues, just that as a blanket statement it isn’t correct.

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

All good mate, no stress

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

The one I wrote myself. Not because its any better ha ha. Its pretty fun to work on it though.

The object/class/thing would normally be its own class file, the action would be a method/function of said class.

Ie:

fileDialog.open()

fileDialog = Class (Dialog), Subclass (FileDialog)

It’s Linkin Park. Found it amusing that you’re stating their whole discography is great, but misspelled their name.

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

Only 6 hours on battery? That’s pretty low I’d have thought.

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

I guess you’d need 10 to represent 0, and if you got 2x 10 that would be 100?

I found that the meat to fat/bone ratio on Turkey was worse than Chicken. Always have so much waste when preparing Turkey the money just didn’t make it worth it.

You have my vote. The out of the box experience would be polished and I have no doubt would be done very well.

I found this but its “Smart”. www.amazon.com.au/…/B0B7S3JSG7

Matty_r OP ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

Sweet. Thanks mate.

Matty_r OP ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

I think that’s a reasonable request? An internet connection shouldn’t be necessary.

Matty_r OP ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

Sure, that’s why I put it in quotes. What smart is, is subjective.

Matty_r OP ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

Well, the goal would be that its not accessible externally. And I’m OK with providing footage should they request it - that’s just something you have to accept when owning a security system.

Just watched a review. Looks pretty good, they specifically mention Home Assistant as well which is very cool.

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

I think the question is fine, but we have to assume they covered this type of method prior to the exam, where .length would result in the character count of a String.

Raytheon uses Procurement Fraud, its not very effective.

My vote is Linux Mint. I had installed it on a family members laptop and have been going strong for years without fault.

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

I think Ubuntu is a solid contender for sure. I had a couple bad experiences with some updates (nothing significant) which didn’t really inspire confidence for me to be able to set it up once and never need any real maintenance on my behalf.

Don’t get me wrong, if I was using the laptop and it had Ubuntu I’d be ok with it because I’m comfortable with Linux. But for a set and (mostly) forget install, I chose Mint.

Explicit sync Wayland protocol has finally been merged! (gitlab.freedesktop.org)

Since nvidia drivers do not properly implement implicit sync, this protocol not existing is the root cause of flickering with nvidia graphics on Wayland. This MR being merged means that Wayland might finally be usable with nvidia graphics with the next driver release....

I’d like to know what this is as well? I was hoping Plasma 6 was going to solve my Nvidia + Wayland issues for me, but it didn’t seem to make any difference.

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

That has already been established, yes.

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

Well, that’s it. Pack it up boys. Not more upgrades forever. We did it.

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

That’s when you realize you were editing the same file that exists in the wrong directory the whole time.

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

Kinda. It can help grip strength a lot, or at least holding weights in that way can. But its not a grip strength exercise. Deadlifts, barbell/dumbell shrugs, farmers carry, curls, etc… stuff like that can all help improve grip strength while not being the primary goal of the exercise.

Does it do OCR? And can you create tags / naming convention / folders based on rules and text within the scanned document? I want to digitize all my paperwork, but there is so much I don’t have time to do the organizing part of it manually.

Matty_r ,
@Matty_r@programming.dev avatar

I disagree it should be on by default. What if you’re opening up a file that you’ve already saved and you want to take a look and see if a new color scheme works or you move stuff around just to give it a try. Then it saves automatically and you close it down.

Turning auto save on is a deliberate move, and means you know its on.

Of these, I can recommend Proxmox. Its a decent learning curve coming from VMware, but once you learn the interface you’ll be able to configure things much like you would in Vsphere/ESXi.

I recently started using the Proxmox Backup Server as well, and its pretty amazing. I got myself a super cheap VPS with 400gb storage, setup wireguard and installed the backup server. You just point Proxmox directly to it and it’ll do encrypted backups, scheduling, and easily keep any number of versions of your backups.

I’m actually kind of surprised that they’re all working together at all. Normally they all wanna have it done their own way and it ends up just being another random project, that everybody loves until the next person creates another project because they want it done another way.

I tried, I really did

I’ve been an IT professional for 20 years now, but I’ve mainly dealt with Windows. I’ve worked with Linux servers through out the years, but never had Linux as a daily driver. And I decided it was time to change. I only had 2 requirements. One, I need to be able to use my Nvidia 3080 ti for local LLM and I need to be able...

Yep, Remmina is awesome. I wish I had it at work.
