Back in the late-80s or early-90s, a guy in my coastal town bought a new Nissan Pathfinder, took a bunch of friends for a nighttime joyride at the beach. I do believe there was beer involved.
When they hit water lapping in the sand and made a sharp turn, the tires made a wake that looked really, really cool! Do that again!
Suddenly, the car stopped moving forward. They had drifted too deep. Of course none of these rocket scientists had any idea if the tide was coming or going… it was coming.
They got out - through the windows I guess - waded onshore and prayed for the best. But like I said, the tide was coming. They saw the Pathfinder that still had that new agency car smell, getting completely submerged.
Next day a tow truck pulled it onshore, but as you probably guessed, it was a total loss.
This isn’t true. Many higher trim F150s (bigger cab, 4wd, luxury interior) weigh over 6000lbs. Only the smallest, cheapest ones used for work vehicles are on the 4000lb range. Not defending the Cybertruck, but repeating false info doesn’t help.
The 2023 F150 King Ranch Super Crew has a curb weight of 4,912 pounds. The Cybertruck is nearly a ton heavier.
It’s not an unfair to explain that being heavy affects traction in the sand, and batteries weigh a freaking ton. In the case of the F150 Lightning, for instance, the battery is 1800 pounds, and it’s pretty close to the Tesla in weight.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding what’s being said here, but it’s pretty surreal hearing someone explain how their pickup truck is too big to be useful as a work vehicle.
Most big trucks are big because they have more interior passenger room. They’re essentially vans/SUVs with a small, useless bed that’s purely for looks. Only smaller trucks have a bed of usable size.
This is the mentality of older boomers you didn’t go through the war or the 50s you were a baby. You literally rode the 60s-90s boom train . Remember one telling me rose tinted stories about rationing dude was 50 it ended like 20 years before he was born
Yeah, the hilarious part is that the “Stainless Banner” (which incorporated the familiar red background, blue X, white stars), was mostly a white flag. In fact, when the wind didn’t blow you couldn’t see the part near the flagstaff, so it mostly just looked like a white flag. They realized it looked too much like a flag of truce, and decided to add a red stripe to it… before surrendering less than 3 months later.
I have to say though, purely from an aesthetic point of view, the confederate battle flag is pretty cool looking.
Why Bee Movie 2? It should bee called “Bee Movie Part Bee: Son of a Bee” this title is better as it has 33% more Bee. It also works as a double entendre.
If you call eating a bowl of fruit loops, watching two episodes of Star Trek (Enterprise S4E13/14), looking at tools online, eating a bowl of lucky charms, having a shower, spending 45 minutes looking for my headphones, then checking my phone and seeing this post a life, then yes, I have a very full life.
One thing: We’re not on the verge of a recession. The right wing media needs to make things up to attack and that was one of them. I couldn’t believe all that talk, nothing happened, nothing was about to happen, but they fear mongered for months.
It’s true, but it’s not a great talking point. Every time you say we’re in a good spot, you’re going to have voters who aren’t in a good spot. So then you have to couch it in talk about doing more.
You’re right in that it’s worthy of bragging about; it’s just a tricky subject.
Really? More people are living with parents much longer, pay hasn’t nearly increased with food and housing costs, fewer people are having children, interest rates shot up like 6% in a couple years, the average price of a new vehicle is now $51,000, since 2010 housing costs have shot up about 100%, debt has vastly increased, the wealth gap has straight up gone insane, and depression rates are climbing.
They’ve been putting up bandaid to try and hold it off, but the damn will collapse. The dollar menu didn’t turn into the $2.89 menu for nothing.
