Real talk though. My vegetarian wife struggled to find good vegetarian meals in Oahu that were Hawaiian themed. Not that they didn’t exist. Just that they were lacking compared to most major cities in America.

There’s a vegan sushi/ramen place near me that makes something between musubi and onigiri with vegan spam and they’re crazy good. So that’s one use for it.

It’s a markup language, so you’re supposed to use it for describing complex documents, like it’s used in HTML for example. It was just readily available as a library in many programming languages when not much else was, so it got abused for data storage a lot.
