uBlock Origin has built-in bypass mechanisms. No extra userscripts required. Other extensions or scripts might interfere with uBO though. You also need to use Firefox or a Firefox fork like LibreWolf because Chrome soon won’t support MV2 anymore which is required for proper ad-blocking.
@netchami, yes, the same as I have in the Vivaldi adblocker, but this is a continuo game of Cat and Mouse and uBO need to be updated almost dayly if it want to work, because YT anti-adblocker do it too.
This script works different, YT don't even know that you watch the video with this, it's like a front-end in the same YT page.
I’ve seen this recommendation a couple of times. In my opinion, the MotionBox UI just looks terrible. I prefer Piped or Invidious for watching YouTube. You can use these in combination with LibRedirect to automatically redirect all YouTube links to these alternative front-ends. FreeTube is pretty good if you need a desktop app. I love LibreTube on Android, NewPipe is another option. There’s also Yattee with this guide on iOS and SmartTubeNext on Android TV.
@netchami, well the UI isn't a problem, less in fullscreen, front-end like Piped, Invideous, PokeTube and others a lot of times fails because the instance is down or well, no couldn't skip the YT block, no such problems in MotionBox, apart it can access videos and music from almost all streaming platforms, even from TikTok and Facebook, not only from YT.
Yes, the UI isn't to anyone's taste, but the operation is impeccable and blazing fast.
Piped has some issues because Google tries to IP-ban all Piped instances, but Invidious actually pulls the content through the client, not on the server so it should work flawlessly. I also never had any issues with FreeTube.
@netchami, well, FreeTube also is nice, I used it before, but I changed it, because more and more Videos are inplayable (YT also knows FreeTube). Invidious, yes, works fine most of the time (yewtube works the best), CloudTube is dead, PokeTube also works fine and even permits to download the video (mp4 or mp3),
But they can’t really do anything about it, unless they start requiring you to log in in order to watch videos…
They sent a cease and desist letter to Invidious, but that’s all they can do. It’s practically impossible to block Invidious because it’s completely decentralized. The Invidious instances only pull metadata, the video stream is actually pulled in by the client.
@netchami, i know, that is the problem from front-ends which use the YT API, they can be blocked, Invideous no, but FreeTube and others do, not a problem of decentralized or no, YT only need to blok the API and thats all, folks. With Invidious the only problem are the stability of the diferent instances. Motionbox use an another approach and also don't use the API.
do you think the recent conflict can tracked back to biblical times when prophet Moses lived?
so many things happened in that region, that includes there was a peace in that region for a time to time.
the recent conflict can be tracked at WW I, when British Empire take over that region from Ottoman Empire and they drew the lines and promised two ethnic groups of the same region.
WW I was over a hundred years ago. My point stands that only considering 15 years is a very myopic view on the region.
Can THIS conflict he traced back to biblical times? (By the way, it may even be selling yourself short to stop at Moses… but that leads to the question of how back do you draw the line of relevance…) no of course not. Realistically, while I’m inclined to look back to the late 1800s and early 1900s, there’s no one alive today that was alive at that time. 1 or 2 generations later can you expect everyone to forget the events of the past? Maybe not.
It’s a really classic example (maybe THE classic example) of violence begetting violence. Unfortunately the violent tendencies and hatred are institutionalized. It’s clearly not an easy problem to solve, but I’m fairly certain that violent terrorist attacks against civilians is not in the running for a solution.
EDIT: just to add, going back a thousand years takes us to the time of the crusades, during and after which there were Arab attacks driving out non-arabs… and Arab attacks against other Arab factions (not blind to the fact that all Arabs are not a monolithic group).
Going back a little further you have a history of violence and discrimination against the Jews and Arabs (and pagans and other people) by the Roman’s. You can see how hard it is to find a stopping point in the history of violence in the region.
So yes while the CURRENT conflict probably only tracks back a hundred or so years, the history of conflict in general in the region goes back thousands of years (probably 4 thousand years but im not sure there are even stories, much less even somewhat reliable historical accounts that go back much further than that).
Yes, this is a region that has been fought over since the dawn of human history. It’s centered between the various cradles of human civilization - Sumeria, Egypt, and Greece, so it would have been a strategic location militarily and economically. Jaffa is a port that dates back to biblical times, and during the height of the Roman Empire, Judea would have been a vital trading post on the silk road. It’s where monotheism began, so it holds great cultural significance as well. With the discovery of oil it became an indispensable ally for the industrialized world in a region destabilized by colonialism and the fall of the Ottoman Empire. It truly is a prize to be won, and has been for thousands of years.
However, Israel is not a center of trade in the globalized economy under American hegemony, and perhaps as our dependence on oil wanes, its military/geopolitical significance will dissipate. The only remaining reason for conflict will be the Al Aqsa Mosque sitting atop the Jewish Temple Mount.
More effort for the creator to edit? Possibly isolates audiences unfamiliar with the franchise, particularly those who wouldn’t know that the fish is a newscaster or that the stylized TV is a TV? Also, the wojak is underwater and as a human presumably wouldn’t be able to breathe (boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder).
I’m also just now noticing that a real life photo of clothes has been edited onto the cartoon wojak. It seems like there’s too much hyperstylization in the visuals in contrast to what is supposed to be a generic idea in the message.
I used to watch Thought Slime a lot, even donated to them a few times… then started watching videos from the people they’ve “called out” on stream, followed a rabbit-hole of people who were hurt and never apologized to and realized they’re just another youtube dramafarmer clicks-at-all-costs, no discrimination, storyline-crafting liar. Like everyone.
edit: I know the parasocialism online runs really deep and just saying this is going to get some people losing their shit to defend their fav streamer, I literally don’t care, you have to be aware that every streamer has an army of knights to defend them, and I don’t like engaging that way and am not going to spend my time arguing. I’m not out to change your mind, just explain why I changed mine.
