Its not economically feasible because modern economics functions to create monetary value not tangible value for our society. You shouldn’t view it through the lense of what is “economically feasible” we should view it through the lense of what we should value as a society. Homelessness exists as a motivating coercive force to keep us buying into a system that would kick us to the curb if any of us were dealt a few bad hands in life. Its why our insurance is tied to our employment. The system is fundamentally broken for humanity to exsist inside of healthily, so much so that alot of us cant even imagine a society outside of it.
My guy, you are aware the the whole point of the solar punk movement is about using daydreaming and art about an ideal utopia to help bring it about right? Imagination is one of humanity’s superpowers, and I’m currently building the class conciousness necessary to have an actionable future, where the end goal is an extremely solar punk esc future, I am not under the illusion that I will live to seek the future I am fighting for, but that doesnt mean I’m not going to keep working towards it by spreading its message.

Basically mostly I’ve started taking my privacy and data much more seriously. I was already privacy “aware” but the explosion of so called AI tools in my industry (healthcare) has made me realise the value and importance of my data, and how much of it is being stolen and exploited by private interests. There are also examples of how private data is being extracted from this bullshit AI tools.
I’m increasingly understanding how important it is now to actively protect my data and also fragment my internet presence as much as possible.
I wonder what would happen in the future as future AI’s get trained with AI generated images that they got from the internet. Would the generated images start to degrade or have somekind of distinct style pop out.
Yeah something like that. I imagine it would be something like jpeg which degrades as you keep converting over and over. But not sure how would AI generated images would look like.
Not really. Check midjourney v6 generated images. I found many images, which look undistinctable from real images. So i dont see, why image generation should get worse. What matters is the dataset and only dataset. It doesnt matter if the model is trained on ai images, as long as the dataset is good
I wouldn’t call it hate, more like disapprobation with Canonical’s choices. No one have to use Ubuntu, we have tons of distro to choose. If someone wants LTS, you can always go pure Debian way, it’s not hard to install as it’s used to be (for beginners), or there is Linux Mint Debian Edition. You can easily use flatpaks with these and keep your software up-to-date.
