Don’t know if this would count, but there’s the difficult game of Fester’s Quest on NES. Aliens invade, monsters (possibly aliens, I don’t remember) take over the town/sewers, and Fester of the Adam’s family has to stop them.

It’s been a while since I last played. Only knew it existed when one day mid-2010s my brother got it from either a pawn shop or thrift store. Definitely a game I sucked at and never got far in at all.

Fun fact, the European release is vastly easier due to the simple fact that you can shoot through walls!

All enemies and bosses take less hits for them to be killed. The projectiles fired from the gun can go through walls and obstacles.

In a similar vein, Ghost Master. Some of the levels are fiddly but it’s a ton of fun.

Isoprenoid ,

Did you read the rest of my post? You can’t say “correctly pronounce it”, and then not give instruction. That doesn’t help anyone.

PapaStevesy ,

If the video specifically made to teach you how to pronounce her name didn’t help, what makes you think I can?

null ,

You didn’t link to that video.

PapaStevesy ,

I never said I did.

null ,

You referred to it retroactively.

PapaStevesy ,

Yes, because to refer to it in any other way would have required precognition, which I unfortunately lack. My bad?

null ,

That’s… exactly the point…

PapaStevesy ,

That I don’t have precognition? Ok good, glad I could help you make that point! In the future, you can just assume everyone you meet lacks precognition, because it’s not real. I know that sounds almost like it’s own form of precognition, but it’s not, it’s just good reasoning.

null ,

Nope, not that.

Your original post tells us to pronounce it the way she says it, but doesn’t actually show us how she says it.

How did you expect us to pronounce it correctly if we haven’t heard her say it?

PapaStevesy ,

Your original post tells us to pronounce it the way she says it, but doesn’t actually show us how she says it.

Because I’m not her. You figured it out and found a video on your own, you clearly didn’t need me. Why would I know better than her how to pronounce it?

How did you expect us to pronounce it correctly if we haven’t heard her say it?

I didn’t. I presumed that if someone cared enough, they would find an appropriate video; that presumption was proven correct. But I never expected anyone to do anything, certainly not to get so incredibly butt-hurt by mild sarcasm.

I’d focus on KDE here, it sounds like the gui auto mount service is barfing for some reason. Does the drive mount normally when you boot to the CLI and try to mount it by hand?

HouseWolf OP ,

I am using fstab to mount my drives not KDEs mounting solution as I’ve had issues with that in the past.

But I still get a popup in the bottom corner saying the drive couldn’t mount

And yeah even went mounting and going through the drive just using CLI it still freezes up, I dunno if there’s a way to get an error log from Ls? Or something similar

NeoNachtwaechter , (edited )

You have just been told that

HouseWolf OP ,

My bad I’m reading this all off my phone rn while using a live boot on my PC

When I tried using Ls on my main install it just froze without giving any output, I even left it for over an hour and it didn’t budge.

it still mounts and at first glance seems to be working

What makes you say that?

Show us the output of things like lsblk, mount and cat /etc/fstab to give us a fuller picture

In case you own a lot of devices with remotes, you might transform it into a universal remote with an USB C IR dongle. Wouldn’t be my first choice as you’d still need to recharge it so often but I read of such projects.

Alternatively, you could give it to children for gaming and watching videos. Children are anyway mostly on WiFi and if you equip it with some emulators and ROMs they’ll have tons of funny games without all of these toxic in-app purchases, ads and casino mechanisms.

Honestly I just want to see us slowing down and gaining more free time and flexibility, as our ancestors had. What’s the problem with taking a month or two to sail or to fly in a solar powered airship? All this haste is plain nonsense to me and I don’t think it’s healthy for humans.

Stocks are liquid enough that the genie may not consider it “spending”. You could easily buy it, and then just as easily dump it. The move is also big enough that you’ll single handedly move the market in the process.

solrize , (edited ) to linux in (Solved!) Data recovery, point me in the right direction?

Stop trying to write to it, such as with fsck. Shut down the system, boot from another drive, and mount the flaky drive read-only. See if you can get any important files off it. If that doesn’t work it starts getting weirder. Also, is the drive making any weird noises? What is the output of smartctl -a? Do you have important stuff on the drive that is not backed up? Do you have stuff on the drive that is highly confidential and not encrypted?

Best case is that you have backups and your drive is encrypted or uninteresting, so if it is failing then you can warranty it and restore from backups. Are you ok for that if it comes to it?

HouseWolf OP ,

It’s not the boot drive and is unmounted at the moment

Any data recovery I’m trying at the moment is from the portable drive I cloned the main one from. And yes I got actually important stuff backed in multiple places, it’s mostly media and stuff like game saves I’m trying to get back.

I’m actually in a live boot rn copying as many files off it to other drives (and it seems to be working unlike on my main install?)

Dropping links without any context or explanation is not a good contribution. Especially if it is not clear what the background of OP is, so explaining how to run docker on Android is not something that helps most people.
