They replaced some of the lead(II) ions with copper(II), which has a smaller ionic radius. That’s why the structure would be smaller. Then they meander around other superconductor discoveries to make the argument that this volume change is the cause of the superconducting property here.

As a chemist I can’t say much about the physics aspects of this paper, but the chemistry and crystallography seem reasonable. It would only take a few days to replicate the synthesis and run some of these tests on it, assuming this is real. If I ran a lab doing these things I would be doing that right now.

I think it gives them value as a sales tactic. Plenty of people get cars they can’t afford to pay for upfront, and may be a little outside a sensible budget for payments too. But if they see a 0% loan for 48 months… “what a great deal”… boom that’s another car sold

Firefox has a super simple way to import everything from your Chrome install. And from what I can tell it has every feature plus more. Was very easy for me to switch. I was actually inspired to try it as my daily driver since Chrome hogs an uncomfortable amount of RAM on my laptop

Ding ding ding. In the American work culture the only way to travel a lot is to be ok with not having a job and travel very frugally, or start out with enough money it doesn’t matter.

If you’re the former, one tip I would give is to pick somewhere to go where the USD is very strong like northern Africa or parts of South America.

Nope. A whole bunch of colors do not correspond to any wavelength of light. This includes purple.
