[HN] Will Browsers Be Required by Law to Stop You from Visiting Infringing Sites? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

In a well-intentioned yet dangerous move to fight online fraud, France is on the verge of forcing browsers to create a dystopian technical capability. Article 6 (para II and III) of the SREN Bill would force browser providers to create the means to mandatorily block websites present on a government provided list....

It dissolves quickly when the solution is warm. You would need to add a ridiculous amount for it to be saturated at room temp or slightly below. https://mander.xyz/pictrs/image/3ceb50d1-c7b3-4e3d-9860-4ec77b800581.jpeg

“ice cold” water can hold about 170 grams of sugar in 100 grams of water

TonyTonyChopper ,
@TonyTonyChopper@mander.xyz avatar

Tap water usually sits around 200 ppm or 0.02% minerals. The tea leaves themselves, as I make my tea, are around 10g/L. Say the leaves dissolve 10% as an overestimation. That gives you water with 0.1% tea, 0.02% other. The solubility limit for sugar is 63% (by mass).

correct

Ignore everything but the orange line and the left y-axis. It’s just showing the weight of sugar that fits in 100g of water, vs temperature. The blue one shows that value as a percentage, g sugar divided by total sugar and water.

This has so many errors. Copper is a far better conductor than people. Set up a multimeter for resistance across your skin if you’re dubious, it’ll be in the kΩ per cm. Current will flow if a potential difference is present, regardless of whether there is a less resistive path available. Also the material in question is a metal oxide, not a metal. It’s brittle. So making it into a cable in the first place will be incredibly difficult and expensive. And even in their own paper they showed a limiting current of something like 400 mA, which is not suitable for high power applications.

TonyTonyChopper ,
@TonyTonyChopper@mander.xyz avatar

These are some of the dumbest proposed applications I’ve ever seen for this. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

TonyTonyChopper ,
@TonyTonyChopper@mander.xyz avatar

I don’t have time to write all of that out. Start over without any of these guesses as to what these materials do. It’s irresponsible to say things as if they’re facts, when you know nothing of the subject. Like your most recent post.

Right. And they haven’t. Now what may we deduce about their confidence in these results?

Why don't more men wear crop top ?

The question started by a joke about t*he hell for tall guys to find fitting T-shirts, like size L shows your navel every time you raise the hands, and size XL expect you to have some beer belly so you end-up floating on the clothes. Somehow at that poing better get a navel piercing and wear a crop tops like ladies do. *...

Can a game allow custom models that are bound to a specific size?

I’m trying to think of ways to counter cheating through custom mods as I’ve seen used in other games I’ve played. Like changing wall textures to be transparent or invisible (easy; just don’t allow them to be modded) or player models with huge axis lines extending from them, so they clip through walls (where my question...

TonyTonyChopper ,
@TonyTonyChopper@mander.xyz avatar

I’m not a developer, but maybe you could enforce just one collision model, like normal human shaped. And have a separate visible model that can be modded.

They replaced some of the lead(II) ions with copper(II), which has a smaller ionic radius. That’s why the structure would be smaller. Then they meander around other superconductor discoveries to make the argument that this volume change is the cause of the superconducting property here.

As a chemist I can’t say much about the physics aspects of this paper, but the chemistry and crystallography seem reasonable. It would only take a few days to replicate the synthesis and run some of these tests on it, assuming this is real. If I ran a lab doing these things I would be doing that right now.
