No, electric vehicle sales aren’t dropping. Here’s what’s really going on (www.cnn.com)

You’d be forgiven for thinking the American market for EVs is collapsing. But in the last quarter of 2023, EV sales were up 40% from the same quarter a year before, according to Cox Automotive. In fact, EV sales in the United States hit a record last year, topping 1 million for the first time....

The new Volvo EX30 I was checking out earlier, MSRP is 35. I haven’t seen one around yet but the numbers look good, so I figure I’ll look to see what a used one costs in a couple years when I can replace my car. Figure if EVs keep coming down in price it would be nice. The Kia Nero Plug in Hybrid also is at that price. Volvo is 275 mile range, the hybrid Nero is 33. So really that would open most every drive I need to being full electric and having the ability to let it switch to gas for drives that are different. 33 miles off electric would cost me ~$1.74 after adding in 5% inefficiency on the charge. So that would. So that would save me about 40% compared to current gas prices if compared to a gas powered vehicle getting 33mpg.

Glass? Suppose that isn’t perfect either though. Better to make it all out of lubricated dildos. Ninjas struggle to hold onto them and you can catch a laugh watching a ninja wanker on up a wall

Yes the second one only makes you 97% chance of not passing it on. I will need to find a good source for that, but the idea of vaccination requires mass support. Survival of the fittest isn’t about the strongest. It is about those that can figure out a way to reproduce. Viruses reproduce over and over and over in a single body. A vaccine is a poster in the break room that says “known terrorist”. By the time the body gets the Senate and House to declare a war or the President to start without gives reproduce processes for the virus plenty of time. 97% of the time they step up in this case, clearly not human governments. 3% of the time that virus still gets spread. If we don’t isolate it enough it goes peanut butter all over our jelly. Everyone knows what it is like to clean up peanut butter. It’s just nasty

Four members of the Arkansas supreme court are trying to jump to different seats on the bench, a situation that could empower the conservative governor by granting her more appointments. (boltsmag.org)

Voters are filling two supreme court seats in two separate nonpartisan elections. Neither seat’s current occupant is seeking a new term, so at first glance it may look like the cycle will add two fresh faces to the court. But of the six candidates running for these two seats, four are already sitting justices on the...

It’s time Arkansas completely ignore their supreme court moving forward. They are no longer a legitimate entity apparently. Heads should be rolling over things like this.

My dad had an underlying hate towards others when I was little but it mostly sizzled out by the time Obama was president (2008). 2024 it’s a kerosene fire. Oddly when I was younger he went on a rant about Jews, yet now he seems fine with Jewish people and just hates everyone else.

Racism is back with a vengeance and media/news is promoting it.

I see a woman tolerant of racism while denying it and a racist man. The conservative part I’m guessing you extrapolated by the thought that it is a regressive trait and therefore more likely to be a conservative?

Have you not been tipping the machine for taking your tip? I was told we should leave 2% next to the machine because VISA/MasterCard will go out of business if we don’t afford the life we have to sacrifice to it every day?

Florida gets closer to banning social media for kids under 16 (abcnews.go.com)

Florida is on the verge of passing one of the nation’s most restrictive bans on minors’ use of social media after the state Senate passed a bill Thursday that would keep children under the age of 16 off popular platforms regardless of parental approval....

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

The government shouldn’t regulate what information someone is allowed to consume. If a parent doesn’t want their kid on social media, that is their choice. The answer is simple to me, stop taking away people’s freedom of choice.

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

This is just another act of cutting off kids from information.

I feel like someone said why bother banning books at school when they can just access that information online? And they said you’re right, let’s figure out how we can ban that too

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

Then don’t let your kids on it. Don’t take away other people’s freedom of choice.

I would argue that moving to evs puts the cost burdens on companies and consumers where a functioning public transit system would cost a shit ton and only be able to occur by taxing people which people won’t vote for.

Also when I went on a walk today while visiting my mother, I knocked on a neighbors door to let them know their hazard lights were on in the driveway. I didn’t want their battery to die so I went to door. They wouldn’t even open the door while clearly being able to see my mother standing behind me who lives a few doors down. I had to speak through the door to tell her. That older lady will never take public transit with all the fear we have engrained into the public.

Well then those migrants in New York that tried to fight the cops off the migrant they tackled must all be dismissed on this precedent as well?

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

That was fixed by me long before seeing this. Guessing it doesn’t update in people’s inbox?

Do you see this edit I added after submission? I have a tendency to not re-read until after I submit and then edit it, which is foolish but how I usually do it.

Nevermind I see my answer. It shows an edit time 3 minutes before your comment when I fixed it, which would indicate the messages do not get edited if they are received as notifications.

What if we just cut all Transports from Russia to all NATO countries and transportation from Russia to another country then to a NATO country. Effectively killing all work being performed in person between the countries. Any company found buying or selling any products from Russia would receive punishment by the country they reside in, voted on by a majority approval of the NATO countries without care which countries they are. (Aka Russia, U.S., UK, etc don’t get a bigger deciding opinion on fairness). This will put a 100% cut off of Russian oil as well. The purchase through intermediate states/countries being tracked and punished as well. This would unfortunately punish the people of Russia harshly but it would cause an immediate demand of independence from any oil coming from there and force NATO countries to focus on punishing companies for allowing support to persist. End result is a seclusion/segregation of independence. Apple, Nike, and hundreds of other major brands would lobby against it because it would chop access to the labor markets in China and India, but would increase demand of labor on places like Mexico where money will get fed in, and if we address the underlying drug issues by legalizing weed and a few other drugs and tax them locally we strip the money from the cartels and suddenly the Mexican government and South American countries get more support via job creation and money flowing. The border crisis slows to a minimum as inflation decreased and safety in people’s home countries increases. We create decent immigration policy encouraging people to come through the “front door” (doesn’t exist) but also making sure we boost population paying taxes while creating a further alliance and reliance that brings all of each other up.

Fuck I may have to delete this… Has not been re read and some is extreme

316 people are shot in America every day. ~ 340 million people in the U.S.
Claims of 7+ million migrants have come in since 2021. Round up to their benefit and say 8/340 puts us at 2.35% of the populous. So that should mean we should be hearing about more than 7 people shot by migrants daily.

That doesn’t address other forms of crime… But I surely am not hearing of 7 a day

How many DUIs do you give out to people who blow a 0.0? If a driver refuses to blow standardly a blood test is allowed/offered. It is only admissable in court if performed by a medical professional. Which means if they just asked her to blow and it was a 0.0… and they still didn’t believe her, taking her to a hospital instead of jail would be the logical next step to have the blood test performed where a health professional may have had a shot at catching said health issues.

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

So then you agree a blood test would be needed. (To detect any other drugs, all of which are not admissable in court if not done by a health care professional, aka arresting someone for no reason if not performed)

LifeInMultipleChoice , (edited )

The arrest already occurred, they transport from the arrest to the hospital. They are still under arrest during that time. That’s how DUI/DWIs work, they put you in the back and drive you to the station/jail/hospital

Although I did watch someone drive and tbone a car leaving the parking lot (perpindicular strike on a car going 45mph+) after being told she can’t drive. And they let her husband come pick her up from the accident scene. ~45 min drive for the husband to get there. Some people get treated differently.

Not anyone who watched Trump pardon all the people charged with crimes pertaining to Russia.

Oh and the money launderer… And the missuse of campaign funds guy.

Someone on here said they posted the wrong numbers before the drawing occurred. Like saying the numbers for 2/23/24 are 6,16, 24, 30, 36, and 42.

If he purchased the ticket after today when they were posted wrong he may not have a case and be a grifter, if he purchased the ticket prior to them being posted he may have a case.

Looked it up. He bought the ticket after the incorrect numbers were posted while testing something the day before the drawing. He likely bought this ticket after seeing the numbers and he still might get the money.

Apparently when the real numbers posted it automatically shifted the test numbers over and both were listed. Which would trigger you to be confused if you actually checked your tickets after they were drawn.

The only case the lottery company might be able to use is to have their attorney request the call logs and see if the call he made to his friend to tell him about winning occurred before or after the time it was supposed to be drawn at.

Appears something similar happened before in another state and they paid the winnings for their mistake.

The test numbers were posted around noon the day before the drawing. After the drawing the correct numbers showed up and shifted the test numbers over and it sat on the website for 3 days having 2 sets of numbers.

If they didn’t veto it what would happen? Is there an article like NATO that would stipulate that the UN counties would go to war… I didn’t think there was. So I am unsure if would have any change.

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

That’s good to know. So does that just require a majority vote? (Which if this wasn’t vetoed would have been a landslide). Or does it require some other percentage?

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

So that would mean if the U.S. eventually doesn’t veto it, Russia might as it has clearly been to their benefit.

What a stupid world we live in.

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

Happy, healthy, educated people not scrapping for money don’t rob the gas station nearly as often. Supporting those issues decreases crime directly and would make for a scenario where less officers are needed.

My parents were watching 60 minutes last night and they discussed the stolen electors and the efforts to steal the election. To which ones response is that well Biden is so bad they still want him. When asked why they didn’t find another candidate there is nothing but that is who the GOP wants. They just say everything is a lie now so they can ignore whatever they choose and say the Democrats are just as bad. Pretty much “Both sides” as it gets.

Edit: They don’t like that I say all Democrat and Republicans should be voted out and removed then.

What kind of phone do you have. Samsing, Apple and Pixel all have solutions.

The used prixel I got recently automatically only charges to 80% if an alarm is set, then charges the rest of the way to hit 100% when the alarm goes off.

I get denied from jobs with security clearances because I have student loans debt / financial hardships when they run background checks. The president has the ability to declassify any documents… And he has been on recording sharing classified documents with non clearanced individuals.

Security must only impact peasants

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

Never declared bankruptcy. Trump has though numerous times, so it can’t be that. 85% of my debt is student loans… And nothing is delinquent. 10% car loan, 5% elsewhere. It doesn’t often go the way that we think it should

Psh, it’s time we strip Musk of Starlink for his acts against the U.S. and then ensure a law that you have to pay taxes on stocks in the state where a companies headquarters is while restricting all companies who’s largest percentage of sales comes in the United States has to have a corporate headquarters in the U.S.

The only good news from it is that some of it goes to bright futures scholarships in the state of Florida so that means some kids will get their education supported by this person’s mistake.

Edit: mega millions spans multiple states I believe, so I should say this will help fund education in multiple states

Edit 2. Fun fact. There are 20 states in the U.S. with plans set up to allow free community college

Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Louisiana are on that list… (If you are from outside the U.S. those are often considered states that are slower moving when it comes to “liberal” ideas)

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

The GOP had a stance of good guys with guns will defend people with said guns. So voting to have the guns present and not having one and running instead of defending the people either shows he was a coward by their stance, or not one of the good guys.

Pretend scenar?

10 people are brought in on a line up and a witness is asked who was guilty of the murder. The witness identifies 1 of the people as the murderer never having seen the other 9. They gun down all 10 to be sure the murder doesn’t get away.

Do you think that scenario would be the right thing to do?

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

That’s not even possible…

Yes ambitious young people view it as bad, and adults view it as bad in the U.S. Young person’s (for lack of better term) usually wish for a life with freedoms. Older adults look it as bad parenting to have a kid who hasn’t moved on to “adulthood” which includes independence in our culture. I see it all the time. My parents (Born in 61) hate on all parents and adults who still live with their parents.

Also with media making extremists out of so many people it is more unlikely (not impossible) to find parents and kids that agree on much with viewpoints which can cause a lot of termoil between families.
