Hello! I’m Matt and I just booted up Globe.pub, a Lemmy instance focused on world travel. I’m trying to build a cozy and friendly home for people who used to have that sort of community on Reddit....

I tried to join the lemmy instance some weeks ago but the registration was likely not approved, even though I remember I did everything right....

I made this post because I really like the design of GNOME, and although i’d like customizability, it is mostly enough for my everyday needs. But I want to understand why people may choose other desktop environments…or why you would/would’nt use GNOME.

This seems like the final technology in containing and categorizing different PC uses into different virtual machines, while still having good feel even in contained things. If set up right you can have a seamless experience tabbing between a host system and virtual system, and you can do whatever you can normally do in either...

I want to create a setup where I have a powerfull PC at home, and a lightweight economic laptop to carry around like at school to take notes or watch media on the go. I use Apk Editor Pro for Android to remove trackers. This application works with a Manifest file, but trackers are not always located in this file. I don’t know what other files may contain trackers, how can I edit them and compile the application on my phone....

To rent a movie from 2005, I need to pay 4 euros. A standard with ads Netflix subscription is 5 euros or lowest tier without ads 8 euros (so 1,25x or 2x the price for unlimited access).
