Question for tribe.

My mother theorized that my brother was so abusive to me my whole life was because he had adhd, never knew what to do with his energy.

I thought bullshit. Her comment is from ignorance of the condition. From reading posts here who also have adhd, I never read that kind of reaction.

I guess I don’t believe it the same way autistics are abusive because they are autistic.

But if I’m wrong, please let me know

I can't bind because of chronic pain, and trans tape isn't holding my tits because it's heavy, I can't do surgery either because it takes more than morphine for me to not suffer, what should I do? I'm lost.

I'm sure you've heard it before, but you asked. Have you tried CBD / medical marijuana? I recently started THC free CBD for my and was quite surprised by the effects.

I can't take opioids (too strong reaction) or NSAIDs (CKD) so I've been sruggling to control . I'm also . I'm a trans woman, so binding isn't a need for me. I hope you get some answers.

@janetlogan @spoonies @actuallyautistic thank you! the reason I haven't tried CBD is due to prices being too high for exporting, it's not legal in my country yet... so I take codeine instead.

Spent about 2 hrs so far with AAA and an insurance agency with neither of them giving me quotes.

What a racket. The law requires us to have insurance, I drive well enough that the only payout insurance has ever made in my entire lifetime was when my insurance company actually didn't contest something they should have contested (a driver rear-ended me). It's pretty much free money for them and they still don't want to come through with a quote in a timely manner.

sphealey ,
@sphealey@urbanists.social avatar

@glightly @disability

For 2024 our auto insurer added a very detailed clause prohibiting use of the vehicle for Uber, etc. I suspect people who were driving for those services just weren’t notifying their insurers, but that will be a lot harder in future. It probably took a while for the big insurers to hammer out those clauses with state regulators.

For the commercial policy they probably want the applicant to be some form of corporate entity, whether LLC or some form of corp.

@sphealey @disability This is a used custom van, though...for personal use, not a paratransit van. That's the weird part.

Apas: ActivityPub via email

https://apubtest2.srcbeat.com/apas.html

The overarching goal is an experimental system to make ActivityPub federation stuff clearer for devs, sysadmins and advanced users.

The documentation is incomplete and the code is really not OK! But they always say it's better to get stuff out the door for others to look at sooner. Maybe it inspires others to think about the Fediverse/ActivityPub in weird new ways!

PS thanks @emersion for your SMTP work!

@fediverse

adhocfungus ,

Very interesting. It would certainly make doom scrolling harder. Email always feels more personal, like each message was sent specifically to me for a reason. As opposed to feeds, which feels like looking at cars as they drive by.

I think this system pushes against those boundaries. This sort of concrete brainstorming at the edges is such a crucial part of software evolution, so thank you.

kevincox ,
@kevincox@lemmy.ml avatar

I would actually love this. I use email for everything, it is so nice to have everything come to the same place. Right now I follow a few Mastodon users via an RSS-to-Email service, but the problem with that is that you can’t follow private accounts/see followers-only toots. It would be great to have a full email bridge.

I was considering making this myself at one point. But I think one of the big problem with ActivityPub is that it describes a single particular account. So if my ActivityPub-email bridge was running you wouldn’t also be able to access a Mastodon UI and for example browse other posts. So my account would need to be email-only which would be missing UX for a lot of things (like commenting on a random post I was linked to).
