After half a decade of trying to blow the whistle, he was finally making serious progress, as Boeing’s own planes keep falling apart because of the exact same shoddy practices Barnett has been trying to tell everyone about.
Then, he inexplicably “self-inflicts” a fatal wound just as his lawsuit starts getting serious traction. This dude was straight-up murdered, and we’re all going to act like that didn’t happen, even though it obviously did.
It sure would be a shame if something were to… happen to him, capiche?
we’re all going to act like that didn’t happen
I feel the need to correct you in one matter: we (The People) are doing something about it! Why, Trump has been on the campaign trail for months now, saying how we should fix this very problem!
I am talking about allowing people to murder journalists and tattletales, ofc, what did you think I meant? We aren’t “America” if we don’t allow (checks notes) Freedom Murder of the Press, apparently. (Jon Stewart’s recent take on the matter)
What are they selling? Apart from ads and your data. If anything it sounds like they’re saying the stress will make you consume less so it’s a horrible opportunity to lose weight if you haven’t been able to before. Still a weird take though as war is usually associated with being malnourished, might be the reason it seems offensive rather than trying to make the best of a bad situation.
Even if these two just swallowed their pride and funded free music education for all ages we’d at least have thousands of Mozarts…
…do these guys even listen to contemporary composers anyway? Could they even identify a modern Mozart? My bet is no. They just have so much ego they believe they’d know about it instantly despite their lack of any intimate knowledge of the subject.
If you look at the history of scientific discovery, you'll find that a great many of those making discoveries were born into wealth, or at least some degree of stability.
…if students at terrorist encampments were chanting slogans calling for the death of black or gays they would be swiftly stamped out. And that professors who did so would never work again.
And if my grandmother had wheels and could lift up to 5000 pounds, she’d be a Toyota 3-Wheel Electric Forklift.
I wonder how many Mozarts are living paycheck to paycheck working multiple jobs and don't have time to compose or play because these chucklefucks denied them a living wage by going to war on unions.
But don’t forget that MLK was hated by most people during his time, especially white liberals and conservatives. Liberal democrats and conservatives alike seem to have a nasty habit of opposing the current struggles for freedom and equality. If you want to see what people thought of MLK, here is a political comic from the time
Notice the similarities between this and BLM? If you replace the concept of violent civil rights marches with antisemitic pro-palestine protests, you’ve got another instance of a struggle for freedom and a struggle against genocide being defamed while it is currently happening.
The fact of the matter is liberal democrats support all social justice movements but the current one. In 20 years I will cringe at what democrats say about the plight of the Palestinians, knowing that many are opposed to it right now.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.
Thanks. This quote explained a lot about people who insisted that I be “more inclusive.” I always replied “well, I am inclusive, but there must be another way!” I guess they were referring to this concept which Dr. King very eloquently expressed. Shame on me. Thanks.
“Baby, that was amazing! I feel completely different about 110,000+ dead and wounded Palestinians. Turns out I wasn’t morally conflicted about my country’s involvement or where taxes are going, just horny.”
Wait, are we talking about the same thing? I meant Mr Fantastic of the Fantastic 4 comic, for which I believe all the movies should probably be buried somewhere. I don’t remember them that well. Captain Fantastic with Viggo Mortensen is great, but a totally different genre. Fantastic Mr Fox is a hoot. Not sure what other options it could be.
So you are suing … the people that partially own your company? Only in America can you sue someone without any good reason and still win by default because you have more cash on hand. Cash the defendant partially provided no less.
