While multiple Trump allies described what happened, last night, as a missed opportunity, for the former President, they have since started downplaying the debate’s significance overall, arguing that it won’t shift his numbers, with voters, in states like Pennsylvania.
Over the last 24 years, the first Presidential debate has moved polling numbers by barely 1.5 points. Polarization and calcification are a hell of a thing.
VISA and MasterCard need to have their fees capped by law like they are in the rest of the developed world. It works fine, our government is just too corrupt to do it.

One thing the article doesn’t mention, is Caitlin Clark’s place as a white woman in a sport dominated by black athletes, and the segment of her fans that she might eventually have to disown. For example, there’s an under-current of racism in the drama between her and Angel Reese.
Sue Bird had similar experiences but a generation or so earlier. Of course, there was less social media when she was a young player, and a lot less focus of women’s basketball. Even still, there was a lot of dog-whistle language about how, “she played the game the right way,” or how, “she’s an upstanding citizen.” Of course, Bird eventually came out which made some of those fans leave on their own.
Yes, they really are this despicable. Republicans who aren’t despicable are not welcome in the party. You’re either on the Trump train or you’re dead to them, the Trump cultists have fully taken over the GOP.
