Pieces of shit. I live in this fucking state and it is excruciatingly painful. 4 out of my five kids live here as well and will be affected by these assholes.

dogsnest , in [news] American Killed at West Bank Protest Was a Campus Organizer [gift article - expires in 30 days]
@dogsnest@lemmy.world avatar

a take from elsewhere (not mine, I’m not informed enough…)

This poor woman became so radicalized, apparently during her university days, that she traveled to Israel with a known terror-linked Islamic organization called ISM.

The group she was with began acting violently toward IDF soldiers, forcing the soldiers to respond with live fire. Aysenur appears to have been fatally shot during the confrontation.
This is ISM’s typical tactic. Just like with Rachel Corrie, they will use this tragic incident solely for propaganda purposes.
They only care about these activists when they’re dead and can be used to demonize Israel.

LibertyLizard ,

This seems really detached from what we know of the situation. I would ignore these types of takes unless they’re based on on the ground information. Many people want to believe so strongly that their government is just that they will find a way to justify anything, including mass-murder of civilians.

But I hope more details of what actually happened will come out in the coming days.

specialseaweed ,

Where did you get that? Just curious.

mlg , in Massive oil, gas reserves found in Pakistani waters: Report

Bet my life savings the Pakistani army sells the resource rights to some oil company for $5

Or in the rare chance Imran Khan actually makes it out of political purgatory, bet my life savings it will take the USA 5 seconds to do another regime change.

Or it could also just be a hyped up false report like last time…

InternetUser2012 , in Harris and Trump are getting ready for Tuesday’s debate in sharply different ways

The sad part is his base won’t care how stupid he looks and how great she does. They’re beyond reasoning. I do look forward to our future President kicking the shit out of him at the debate though.

Nastybutler ,

Debates aren’t for the candidate’s supporters. They’re for the undecided voters. How anyone is still undecided at this point is the real mystery

InternetUser2012 ,

I was going to say the real mystery is how anyone could vote for the racist, but then yeah, that’s why they’re voting for him. We have a lot of shitty people in this country, but then again, the world is full of shitty people.

laranis ,

I’m convinced anyone who claims they’re undecided is just being polite to the pollster instead of telling them “none of your business”. Or “undecided” is some statistical construct based on the last 70 years of data. Or, someone who hasn’t been paying attention and doesn’t want to admit to their own apathy.

The idea that someone has thoroughly weighed the offerings and is still waiting for more information to make a decision is utter fucking nonsense.

EpeeGnome ,

I think it’s not so much people who are undecided about who they will vote for, and more people who are undecided whether they will bother to vote for their preferred candidate or just stay home.

SulaymanF ,

There’s a lot of Americans who don’t follow news and to them they only started paying attention after Labor Day.

Burn_The_Right , in UPS faces backlash from extreme heat incidents: ‘I got flowers and that was it’

Conservatives don’t see heat as any kind of danger. They see it as a measure for who’s “a pussy” and who’s “a man”. They genuinely think being overheated is just being lazy; just something in your imagination.

Never defer to a conservative on matters of health or science. They are opposed to both.

halcyoncmdr , in Judge rules Missouri ballot measure to protect abortion rights is invalid
@halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world avatar

Citizen approved ballot measures should override any existing law, unless that was also from a ballot measure.

These measures are directly approved by the citizens instead of indirectly through elected representatives. The citizens have determined this is something they want, regardless of what politicians may have decided previously.

Armok_the_bunny ,

What do you mean unless it was also from a ballot measure? I’d say it should override laws even from a ballot measure since the new ballot measure is more recent, though in that case it would be best to communicate that the new ballot measure is overriding the old one just for clarity sake.

Treczoks , in Boeing’s Starliner lands on Earth – without its astronauts

Amazing. Given Boeings recent track record, I didn’t expect it to do that.

Reverendender , in Trump rebrands his ramblings as ‘I do the weave’ – but is he just losing it?

I love it. He thinks what he is doing is the same thing that John Oliver does masterfully on Last Week Tonight. What he’s actually doing I cannot for sure say, but I am fairly certain it involves extreme ADHD with maybe a side of schizophrenia and some sort of personality disorder. Oh and a large helping of rapidly worsening dementia.

Protoknuckles ,

The scary thing is that so many people jive with that weird insanitary mental disorder.

Reverendender ,

I feel like they just have convinced themselves somehow, or it’s Stockholm syndrome sort of.

Gullible ,

It’s absolutely Stockholm syndrome for their leadership, but average Republicans act more like (bad) cultists in most of the ways that matter:

Vague, nonspecific language in their modern tenets that can be interpreted any number of ways

A propensity and desire for isolation

Extreme concentration of wealth

Women viewed as breeding machines

Messianic idolatry of leaders and natural acceptance of hierarchical segregation

NegativeInf ,

I have ADHD. I’ve described my train of thought as less a single train on a single track, but each car on one of 8 tracks, some of which are multitrack drifting. But I don’t sound like Trump. He sounds like he’s lost his marbles and when he bends over to pick one up, dumps out the rest of the bag.

Noodle07 ,

I have adhd too, the multitrack drifting has a point! It’s all leading to something specific. Trump? He never had a point.

protist ,

Donald Trump definitely does not have schizophrenia. ADHD is a maybe, but Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a certainty.

homesweethomeMrL ,

Just bog-standard demented sociopathic malignant narcissism.

Buffalox , (edited )

schizophrenia

I’m not a psychiatrist, but I talked with one about what looks like this AFAIK, if I understood correctly, he called it lose associations, associating things all over the place disregarding their lack of relevance.

Of course just exhibiting one symptom, doesn’t mean he is schizophrenic.

I think Trump does show some ADHD like behavior too, again I’m not a professional, but I think the problem for people with ADHD is that they forget where they came from, and Trump does seem to be able to get back to that.

But for sure, this is not a normal way to present your views. Except for a small child maybe, which fits the toddler label often associated with Trumps behavior.

So my best guess is that Trump is mentally like a child for whatever reason (Dementia most likely). Obviously besides being a malignant narcissist and pathological liar.

FelixCress ,

Of course just exhibiting one symptom, doesn’t mean he is schizophrenic.

He is not. He is just a cunt, without any mental disorder apart from sociopathy and extreme narcissism.

WalrusDragonOnABike ,

I think Trump does show some ADHD like behavior too, again I’m not a professional, but I think the problem for people with ADHD is that they forget where they came from, and Trump does seem to be able to get back to that.

Couldn’t that just be because it typically has a teleprompter telling him what he’s supposed to be talking about?

takeda ,

I think Trump does show some ADHD like behavior too, again I’m not a professional, but I think the problem for people with ADHD is that they forget where they came from, and Trump does seem to be able to get back to that.

Could it be the teleprompter?

aramis87 , in Judge rules Missouri ballot measure to protect abortion rights is invalid

iirc, they have to start printing the ballots by early next week, to comply with deadlines in getting the early ballots out to voters in time. Fucking conservatives trying to run out the clock so that there isn't enough time [oops so sorry] to have the measure on the ballot.

grue ,

[oops so sorry]

“But don’t worry, we’ll be sure to put it on the next one for ya” [which just so happens to be a low-turnout election where conservatives will have an advantage]
