People are (rightfully) raking Starliner and Boeing for the shitshow that has been this project so far. But the positive to take from this flight, even landing without the crew, is the fact that the capsule itself performed fine. It was the service module that was being screwy. The actual “capsule” part in “capsule” seems to have had it’s issues ironed out. Just fix the shitty service module.
This just goes to show that nobody ever graduates school. What happens in elementary school in terms of popularity contests reoccurs in junior high and high school, college, businesses, religions, and governments. Humanity is still in its adolescence and until we actually mature as a species, we will constantly be on the brink of death or we will find a way to make it happen.
In general I think using AI imagery, and catfishing in general, is basically entrapment. In most civilized countries; that’s illegal for police to do.
Now if they begin to actually trade in actually legitimate forbidden materials…sure; by all means arrest for that charge alone. That wouldn’t be unjustified. But provoking someone who might then turn around and harm a real child, seems wrong.
In psychological terms we call that tangentiality or a tangential affect. Where the subject starts on one topic, and then continually digresses to other loosely or unrelated topics. It’s a marker for mental illness.
Or we could just call it what it is, pulling it out of your ass.
I’m an English professor. I’m willing to overlook a lot of stuff in student papers as long as I can follow it to the basic point they’re making. Donnie’s not even at a level that understands the assignment, and he’s refusing to ask for help. I can assure you he’s not Pynchon, either — he doesn’t want the publicity.
