randon31415 , in Judge rules Missouri ballot measure to protect abortion rights is invalid

Republicans: “This abortion ammendment will allow for child sex change operations.”

Petition filers:“No it won’t, it is just make abortion legal again.”

Limbaugh: “Because you didn’t include the fact that toddlers now can request sex changes, and the changes to the relevant statues that prohibited that, I rule your signature gathering was misleading and I am kicking it off the ballot one day before they start printing them.”

Petition filers:“WTF, state supreme court! Limbaugh is treating his crazy delusions as legal fact again!”

xmunk , in As Harris Rejects Fracking Ban, Will Anyone Listen to What Pennsylvanians Want?

Don’t worry… John Fetterman will surely listen to his constituents this time! /s

AllNewTypeFace , in Michigan newlyweds arrested after groom allegedly runs over and kills groomsman hours after wedding

It’s a proper Morisettian irony

cygnus , in ‘Worrying lack of moderation’: how eating disorder posts proliferate on X
@cygnus@lemmy.ca avatar

Wow, it’s too bad that all these people are being forced at gunpoint to use Twitter. If only it were possible to just not go there.

Z3k3 ,

People are afraid to not go there musk will sue if your account doesn’t have 10 logins registered per day

NocturnalMorning , in Trump rebrands his ramblings as ‘I do the weave’ – but is he just losing it?

Decided to find his speech on YouTube after seeing this. He was coherent for about the first 5 minutes until he started going off his prepared speech, and God did it get incoherent fast from there. I only watched about 10 minutes, couldn’t handle anymore than that.

tigeruppercut ,

If you’d only made it til the end you could’ve heard his BEAUTIFUL WEAVE, and you too could experience English professor tears of joy

I have seen more of the videos of his cults loyalty faltering and just a steady stream of people dipping out by halfway through (if not earlier). They are all excited on the way in but have no need to listen to Trump’s dementia word salad monologue with his favorite unrelated topics that people at his rally are just ‘meh’ about (ex. - sharks + electrocution + EV boats, windmills, whales, bacon effected by wind).

werefreeatlast , in Judge rules Missouri ballot measure to protect abortion rights is invalid

Is that why all hangers are now just more plastic? I used to be able to make little things with the wire. It was malleable but almost spring hardened.

Viking_Hippie , in Israel Just Killed Another American in the West Bank. Will the U.S. Ever Respond?

They already “responded” in exactly the way you’d expect:

The White House said it was “deeply disturbed” by the killing of a U.S. citizen and called on Israel to investigate what happened.

The leadership of both parties treat the fascist apartheid regime exactly like they treat American fascists in uniform (cops, in case there was any doubt) murdering people.

AmbiguousProps , in Judge rules Missouri ballot measure to protect abortion rights is invalid

A government small enough to fit in your bedroom.

lolcatnip ,

In your pants.

LillyPip , in Harris and Trump are getting ready for Tuesday’s debate in sharply different ways

I think Harris may be neglecting a key part of necessary prep. She should spend some time at the zoo outside the monkey enclosure dodging their flung shit, or I fear she might lose.

some_guy , in Election conspiracy theorist fined $1,000 a day until he discloses evidence to court

I remember this asshole. An antifa conf call where people spoke openly about their plans to rig the election. Ha fucking right. They can say anything with credulity because their side wants confirmation without proof. If I was completely without morals and ethics, I’d be one of those rightwing shills getting bankrolled by Russia saying the craziest shit I could come up with, too. Instead, I have a real job.

LillyPip , in Donald Trump Says Elon Musk Will Lead 'Government Efficiency' Task Force

Well, narcissistic idiots who’ve built their empires on lies and exploitation flock together.

pyrflie , in Former Vice President Dick Cheney to vote for Kamala Harris

Honestly worst endorsement for Harris.

I’m gonna put this in the dead clock right twice per day camp rather than hold it against her.

Wynnstan , in Father of Georgia school shooting suspect told investigators he purchased gun as holiday present for son, sources say
@Wynnstan@lemmy.world avatar

Perhaps the father only intended his son to use his AR-15 to kill animals for fun, which is totally acceptable behaviour for any budding young psycopath.

orcrist , in Cop Who Shot Sonya Massey Lied to Make a Drug Arrest. It Didn't Hurt His Career

For cops, lying is a virtue. It gets them promoted. I think the other dirty cops, which is the majority, want to know they have someone dishonest to cover their backs. Certainly many of the non-cop bosses want people who will bend and break the law as needed.

some_guy , in Trump rebrands his ramblings as ‘I do the weave’ – but is he just losing it?

“I do the weave. You know what the weave is? I’ll talk about, like, nine different things that they all come back brilliantly together. And it’s like friends of mine that are like English professors, they say: ‘It’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen,’” he told a bemused audience.

This is what Kevin Smith did in his university Q&As fifteen years ago. He would tell an amazing and hilarious story that would loop back around ten minutes later to land on the originating topic in a brilliant manner. Trump, not so much.

BetaBlake ,

Yeah trump has never “come back brilliantly” he could be asked about childcare and he’ll start out talking about Harris and end up by talking about Covid
