I used to be middle management in retail. The province wide financial meetings had franchisees shitting themselves because the profit vs cost percentage had gone down, despite the actual profit amount continuing to increase (by raising prices).
These people do not live in reality. All numbers must always go up.

Put that shit up on a screen like what happened to the old and wrinkled Italian regime. Tifa up there screaming, giving heart attacks to poor old men, that scene was so obscene.
Now imagine the travesty, bunch of out the closet conservatives projecting their desires, watching what transpires as JD Vance has a relationship with an entire set. They’re the ones that must bear witness to that.
Merits of the request aside (because I really have no clue) how does this possibly help him?
Does he think the entire world is just going to forget he was originally convicted? That we are just going to go “Oh – there’s that guy who wasn’t ever found guilty of looking at child porn and doing sex things with kids”?
Do people who are convicted of stuff then acquitted on technicalities really think that the public just forget all their past crimes because a piece of paper says “sorry – they were prosecuted one day too late”?
It would vacate his conviction and get him out of prison. His life after may not be great, but he still has money.
As for his future career, people tend to forget/ignore all of that anyway. Chris Brown savagely beat Rihanna nearly to death, and he still has no problems booking a tour. But even if it was still a thing, he’d just say (accurately, mind you) that it was all just a plan by his lawyers. It was the most effective way of getting him out of prison, and clearing his record.
They’re also a lot of work that is not public faced, producer, composing, writing, that if he still have contacts to work with he can do out of the public eye.
I mean, we’re seeing it live with Trump and his crimes. He’s been pre-forgiven on the basis that his convictions will get overturned on various technicalities despite the fact 12 jurors found he did that shit.
But (and I admit this is where my knowledge of what’s going on in the US gets a bit sketchy because I live in the UK and – okay – don’t care all that much) wasn’t Cosby’s conviction overturned on a technicality? And as far as I can tell he hasn’t regained his former glory and former status as “America’s Dad”?
I think that’s because R Kelly didn’t show a veneer of “Dad” to everyone for decades. Nobody wants to forgive that person, who they respected their whole lives, for making them believe he was awesome while he drugged and raped women.

Most people have their own lives to worry about. Sure some people will cut him off but most don’t care. That’s way too much effort for a stranger.
As I said in another comment I hadn’t realised he was in prison. My level of interest in the lives of convicted paedophiles is – and this may not come as a surprise – very low, so I just thought he was trying to clear his name.
Pretty sure their software’s legal agreement, and the corresponding enterprise legal agreement, already cover this.
The update was the first domino, but the real issue was the disarray of Delta’s IT Operations and their inability to adequately recover in a timely fashion. Sounds like a customer skimping on their lifecycle and capacity planning so that Ed can get just a bit bigger bonus for meeting his budget numbers.
Delta was the only airline to suffer a long outage. That’s why I say Crowdstrike is the kickoff, but the poor, drawn-out response and time to resolve it is totally on Delta.
Idk, crowdstike had a few screwups in their pocket before this one. They might be on the hook for costs associated with an outage caused by negligence. I’m not a lawyer, but I do stand next to one in the elevator.
And now that this occurred, and cost $500m, perhaps finally some enterprise companies may actually resource IT departments better and allow them to do their work. But who am I kidding, that’s never going to happen if it hits bonuses and dividends :(

In some ways it won’t really make a difference because fully staffed up I.T departments also needs to be listened to by management, and that doesn’t happen often in corporate environments, but still they’ll pay the big bucks so that’s good enough for me.

I wasn’t affected by this at all and only followed it on the news and through memes, but I thought this was something that needed hands-on-keyboard to fix, which I could see not being the fault of IT because they stopped planning for issues that couldn’t be handled remotely.
Was there some kind of automated way to fix all the machines remotely? Is there a way Delta could have gotten things working faster? I’m genuinely curious because this is one of those Windows things that I’m too Macintosh to understand.
All the servers and infrastructure should have “lights out management”. I can turn on a server, reconfigure the bios and install windows from scratch on the other side of the world.
Potentially all the workstations / end point devices would need to be repaired though.
The initial day or two I’ll happily blame on crowdstrike. After that, it’s on their IT department for not having good DR plans.
There was no easy automated way if the systems were encrypted, which any sane organization mandates. So yes, did require hands-on-keyboard. But all the other airlines were up and running much faster, and they all had to perform the same fix.
Basically, in macOS terms, the OS fails to boot, so every system just goes to recovery only, and you need to manually enter the recovery lock and encryption password on every system to delete a file out of /System (which isn’t allowed in macOS because it’s read only but just go with it) before it will boot back into macOS. Hope you had those recorded/managed/backed up somewhere otherwise it’s a complete system reinstall…

Moralizing laws aren’t new at all. Yea because that always holds up in court. I’m sure every legal team will claim the lack of QA was gross negligence on Crowdstrikes part and that normally allows vast portions of agreements to be nullified as one party clearly didn’t hold up their end of the deal
Crowdstrike wouldn’t have a business model if the security of Microsoft Windows wasn’t so awful. Microsoft isn’t directly to blame for this, but they’re not blameless either.
Windows defender for enterprise is a strong competitor in that market, and CISO that went with crowdstrike did it because the crowdstrike sales team hosts really great lunches and sponsors lots of sports teams

Iran’s Khamenei says avenging Haniyeh’s killing is ‘Tehran’s duty’
Avenging Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s assassination is “Tehran’s duty” because it occurred in the Iranian capital, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday.
According to Reuters, Khamenei said Israel had provided the grounds for “harsh punishment” for itself.
“We consider his revenge as our duty,” he said.
There has been no immediate comment from Israel on the strike, which took place hours after Haniyeh attended the inauguration ceremony for Iran’s new president.
