I’m simply pointing out that the ADL are not paragons. They throw their weight around for their own political purposes. Just because bad guys say things you don’t like doesn’t mean they should not be allowed to say anything.
I agree, the ADL should be shut down for saying bad things about a job creator like Elon. Also, all the businesses that decided to stop buying ads on Elons site should also be shut down, it’s a blatant violation of the law for them to do that.

Terrible article. They provide no concrete examples, only empty platitudes. And it’s clear they’re extremely biased:

He calls every group defending civil rights “actually anti free speech” and suggests the ADL doesn’t do enough for Orthodox Jews, without again any evidence, because of “assimilated Jews”. This sentiment comes up again when he says that most Jews “reciprocate” the ADL’s supposed detestation of Judaism.
He’s just another religious conservative detached from reality. It’s actually quite concerning when a lawyer makes baseless claims about an anti defamation organization. I don’t know if it meets the legal definition of defamation, but it certainly gets the common usage for it. Anyone who’s ever been represented by this guy should get another trial, because this guy seems likely to prove your role in the murder in the process of trying to prove your innocence blaming liberals and judges for your arrest.
My understanding was that the informant bit didn’t really help him out because he stopped being an informant and then the January 6th riots happened.
So he’d stopped supplying them with information before he then committed treason. So it isn’t as if they just weren’t appreciative of the information supplied, the information supplied had nothing to do with why he was arrested.
Interesting. I thought that he had got himself arrested on minor charges before the 6th, to have an excuse not to be there. I assumed that was encouraged by the FBI. Sounds like he was hedging his bets, and lost it all anyway. Either way, I’m laughing at him!
Supposedly it’s a lower sentence than the sentencing guidelines allow (according to others in this thread anyway.) So maybe it did count.

Yes, the whole place is on sale right now. I’m going in a few weeks. Hotels are insanely cheap compared to the states. I’m staying in renovated monnestaries and castles for less than a low end chain hotel costs at home.
Airfare is fucking brutal though, so it’s almost a wash.
It really is. I did a small one this summer and the US dollar went far. Third time in Germany and had a blast. Beer is everywhere there! Imagine walking into a restaurant and getting a craft beer quality drink served to you for $1.50. I can’t get an IPA for that price even at my local liquor store.
Belgium is next on the list. I keep running into people from there telling me how underrated it is.
That is a SUPERDOUBT. I seriously doubt the price was that even for a shitty Heineken/becks/dreher beer. We had inflation growing almost everywhere (except Switzerland but they simply keep repeating it to themselves, hotel prices are at least 15-25% more expensive than pre-covid) Also, euro/dollar exchange rate is now the same as it was pre-covid
I’m not saying you cant find good deals but that beer price in a restaurant is unrealistic.
Okay, I consider myself pretty reasonable in the face of inconvenience, but there’s no way in hell I’d sit in a seat covered in vomit, and I’d certainly make a stink about getting another flight paid for. I know the flight crew probably didn’t have time to fully deal with the situation between flights, but the airline should have some kind of contingency for dealing with a potential biohazard situation.

Completely unrelated, it’s very noticeable how everyone is medicated and has mental health problems since I’ve moved to the US, weirdly back in Australia where the health system is different it’s less common. What are the odds of that…
It occurs to me that I’ve never heard of an absolutist that wasn’t a hypocrite in some way. They can excuse white supremacy and Nazis, but they draw the line at either being personally attacked or held accountable.
