Wish that existed for several mobile apps that refuse to have a dark mode. I could force it with some dev options but it kinda breaks the apps somewhat. The worse thing is they have dark modes on ios or some other people’s phones but never mine for whatever reason 😒 🙄
There are a select few times that Dark Reader makes a button or text invisible and I have to turn it off and I’m reminded of how terribly bright websites normally are. Dark Reader creates a vastly improved website viewing experience.
The thing I love most about democracy is that I get zero choice or control over who represents me in government at all and I let them make decisions for me that hurt me. In fact I celebrate it when they make decisions that hurt me
Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation and race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.
I don’t know why you went with something that individual internet neckbeards do.
Literally no such thing. The Holodomor is a fiction created by Nazi propagandists to paint the failures of Soviet agricultural policy in dealing with a famine as a deliberate attempt to exterminate Ukranians.
Important to note, this was merely the latest in a long series of famines which had historically plagued this part of eastern Europe. It was also the last.
not a genocide by any reasonable definition of genocide, and calling non-genocide things “genocide” dilutes the term in a way that is beneficial to nazis.
none of us cheer the invasion, we shit on boris johnson for sabotaging peace talks you dolt.
Same here. The limey taste of hops makes the beer for me, when I get a lighter beer I’m more often than not left disappointed, like I’m drinking bubbly water that’s been sitting in a pipe for 25 years. Craft IPAs on the other hand range from “meh it’s alright” to “this is amazing”.
I do, too, and drove one for many years. I’ll be the one to splash cold water on the conversation, though.
Driving a stick arguably requires the use of both hands and legs, which is great and partly the reason why so many enjoy it - that sense of engagement. It’s far less boring.
But here’s the deal. Injure any one of those appendages and driving a manual becomes a whole lot less fun. In some cases, you can get by, but it’s less than ideal. Having your arm closest to the shift in a sling, for example, makes your vehicle undrivable.
It won’t matter to most people… right up until the moment it does.

I broke my right shoulder and spent two months driving my stick shift SC2 (in the US) entirely with my left hand. It’s doable, you just have to shift really quickly and get your hand back on the steering wheel. Not having the use of both feet would probably kill the deal.
If you get the RPM just right, you can absolutely shift gear without a left leg. I used to drive the paddock bomb around the farm as a kid with my left foot on the dashboard. This is not advisable on the freeway.
Well, I still drive a manual (I’ve never owned an automatic except for my school bus) so if I ever fuck up one of my feet I’m sure I’m going to try that.
Hey I do that too!! There’s a skill for moving from 1st to Reverse with the left hand while the right looks for the cup holder with the coffee in hand.
Pull stick out of first. Gently slot into second as engine speed drops to the perfect RPM. Feather throttle if necessary.
accelerate through second
pull stick out of second, gently slot into third as engine speed drops to perfect RPM as above
to decelerate, pull stick out of third, raise RPM then release throttle. Drop into second at perfect engine speed. Apply brake. Throw into neutral before stopping. Switch engine off.
Driving manual with one foot, one knee, and one hand (while completely screwing your baulk rings): a tutorial.
I’m a manual aficionado, but my mother hasn’t driven a stick, despite teaching all her children how to, since I was born due to her arthritis. Apparently her knees don’t like having to clutch constantly. I’d rather have her mobile and active as she is now, than have her stuck at home reliant on my dad to give her rides.
This happened to me in highschool. I got a bad skiing injury, my leg wasn’t broken but I pulled my ACL, and they put my leg in a brace. My parents had to come pick me up at 10PM and drive my car home for me. Nobody was happy about the situation.
That’s Soviet MBV-2, two were made in Kirov manufacturing plant in Leningrad in 1936-37, though i guess the transformation of one of them into a Thomas was post war development (second one is preserved in museum).
How reckless, encouraging inheritance like that. My personal demon college tutor instructed me on the ways of Malbolge. In the end, life is just a list of self-modifying instructions.
Blasphemy! Unions are just algebraic data types without any guardrails. If the programmer misuses them, that’s their own fault for b$:, 9^\⊂ƒ~>[→ZzF™×#
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Oh jeebus fucking christ. Sometimes the dumb hurts and then you get the existential dread knowing you’re about to have to call this moron. And, even better, they usually make more money than you.
It works because they act as tax havens to help rich people from other countries hide their wealth. It’s not a sustainable system for every government, and it is pretty corrupt to help wealthy people avoid paying taxes in their country just so you can have a bit of their wealth in yours…
Googles translation software is definitely pretty cool. I’ve been able to use it to talk with people who couldn’t speak English before (although not the most coherently) which is pretty cool when the alternative is not being able to speak to each other
