You actually create a communist revolution by having a leftist demagogue convince a group of bored trust fund babies that they’re lives would be paradise if they only fundamentally change the government. The same demagogue goes to elite keyholders in the old government and promises power un the new government if they change sides. The revolution happens. Scores are settled, and many of those same trust fund babies are put against the wall, because the demagogue wants absolute political power, not a utopia for his supporters. The country is weakened, while political and civil rights are curtailed for the greater good

Don’t forget to upvote good segments and downvote bad ones. Segments that are downvoted enough get hidden or removed. That’s a pretty big part of how they prevent malicious people (possibly with outside instances) from trying to sabotage the network
Dude there’s literally an entire article about them saying that gamers should ‘get comfortable with not owning their games’, a lot of Ubisoft Connect accounts that had ‘The Crew’ have had their licenses revoked, and the game has been shut down since April 1st.
Okay but my question was specifically if Ubisoft was asking that question at the same time they are making these decisions. That last panel would be funnier if it were true.
They know people are making a private server so revoked everyone’s license so that even when they finish it, everyone will have to pirate their own game to play it.

Right? I kept hearing this claim so I finally watched Hidden Fortress and now it pisses me off at how much of a huge fucking stretch has to be made. “Oh, two comic relief buddy characters in an otherwise mostly serious film? Must be a Hidden Fortress ripoff!”
Fuck off. You might as well say they’re similar because both movies use moving pictures and sound to tell a story.
I mean it’s been a hot minute since I watched hidden fortress but it’s definitely much more than the droids as far as influence goes, unless I’m completely misremembering it there’s also Kenobi, Luke, and Leia equivalents and Lucas hasnt even been coy about how it was a big influence on the original film as far as I know
The music tends to be left off lists like this but without that fabulous score and the genius of John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra, Star Wars would not have had the same emotional impact.
Forget the music it’s the overall sound design, music is just a small part of it. Villeneuve’s vision for the whole thing was to make it sound like a documentary: The desert sounds like desert, not like music, the ornithopers sound like – erm, they sound like ornithopters, not helicopters or music, everything sounds natural. As if shot on location, on actual Dune, and that atmosphere is given plenty of screen time, no grand musical scores interrupting the immersion.
EDIT oh wait you were talking Star Wars, not Dune. Yep, completely different beast. Also the THX logo not just the 21st Century Fox fanfare is part of the score I’m going to die on that hill.
I wish people were THAT passionate about REAL life/world problems/ injustices and make fun of the real people in power, who allow Ubisoft to do such things…
I think non-militarized cops, so most non-American ones, are not that bad and are generally more decent people than militarized cops. It’s amazing how much better policing can be when cops don’t carry guns with them all the time
In Europe all cops carry guns and yet most cops I’ve gotten to talk to are great. I’m Italian and all Italian cops I’ve talked to have been great to me and often times I ask them for directions when I get lost in our metropolitan cities. I don’t think it has got to do with guns, but rather police training. Compared to the US most EU countries have a training period of 2yr rather than the 6mo I’ve heard from friends and family typical of the US, which ultimately allows cops to be better prepared and police trainers to weed out the unsuitable.
