cmnybo , in MO2 works amazing with proton, even with an excessive amount of mods

I had some trouble with 2.4.4 on proton 7. It would get very laggy after being open for a while. I updated to 2.5.0 on proton 9 beta and it’s been running smoothly with hundreds of mods.

livjq , in SuperTuxKart - On the way towards 1.5… and 2.0!

I really wish they would put out a version on Steam. I know it’s easy enough to install the game (which I have on my PC and deck) but I have friends who literally won’t play a game unless it’s on Steam ☹️

uuhhhhmmmm ,

They announced a Steam version few years ago, but there are no news on this since then.

muhyb ,

Let’s hope it will be on Steam with version 2.0.

RayOfSunlight ,

Just how religious you have to be to not play games OUTSIDE Steam?

sugar_in_your_tea ,

Ikr?

I certainly prefer Steam because it has nice features (e.g. Steam Input), but I can also add non-Steam games as needed as well.

RayOfSunlight ,

The only thing i hate about steam is the DRM that takes resources and makes games slow at the start

Daxtron2 ,

Its also about getting it out to people who would otherwise have no idea it exists.

RayOfSunlight ,

Dang it, okay then

onlinepersona , in SuperTuxKart - On the way towards 1.5… and 2.0!

I’m sure if they rewrote it in GDScript they’d have more contributors. But it’s impressive that they’ve been going for so long.

I wouldn’t be so sure … contributors are hard to come by. You need people with time AND the experience or strong desire to learn.

There are a lot more people that have ideas about making contributions than actually make contributions.

Daxtron2 ,

Yeah I get why they initially went for the stack they did, but it would be cool to see a similar project in godot

UnixAwesome , in SuperTuxKart - On the way towards 1.5… and 2.0!

SuperTuxKart is definitely needed!

WIPocket , in Heroic Games Launcher not finding other drives (solved)
@WIPocket@lemmy.world avatar

The drive with the game files is mounted.

Where is it mounted? Try navigating to that mountpoint, not to the device itself.

meekah OP ,
@meekah@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, I guess this is a typical linux noob pitfall. That worked, thanks!

reddthat ,

Might want to update your post with [Solved] as well just to help others

meekah OP , (edited )
@meekah@lemmy.world avatar

Doesn’t the title say “(solved)”?

Edit: I realize this comment reads a bit passive aggressive, but I’m genuinely curious. Or are the square brackets important?

reddthat ,
@reddthat@reddthat.com avatar

It does now! Must have taken a bit before my instance got the update… Or … I didn’t see it because of my client

meekah OP ,
@meekah@lemmy.world avatar

I see, fair enough ^^

Xirup , in Heroic Games Launcher not finding other drives (solved)
@Xirup@yiffit.net avatar

For those who have this problem and have installed Heroic as a flatpak, remember to add the path of the storage you are trying to access to the directories allowed by Heroic using tools like Flatseal.

boomer , in Thrive 0.6.6 Trailer

Well done

Cynthia , in Heroic Games Launcher not finding other drives (solved)

Can you post the solution please?

Just in case other people have the same situation.

Lemmyvisitor ,

yeah, nothing worse than finding someone with the exact same issue and the last post is just “thanks guys I solved it” and nothing else

meekah OP ,
@meekah@lemmy.world avatar

Well, I figured the comment that helped me would help others as well. The solution was to look in /mnt not /dev.

CosmicCleric , (edited ) in Proton 9.0 Beta updated and nearing release for Linux / Steam Deck
@CosmicCleric@lemmy.world avatar

From the article …

Fixed input issues with Worms Armageddon.

Interesting that normal keyboard and mouse input would have a unique issue with just that one game.

I wonder what they do that’s not normal for handling input?

What do you use to automatically add that licence to your comments? That’s really cool! Big fan of creative commons.

Its a manual copy/paste of the following text…

[~CC~ ~BY-NC-SA~ ~4.0~](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/)

I use the Lemmy web client, and they don’t have a signature section on the account to set once and forget.

JackGreenEarth ,

Why do you put strikethrough the text though?

Why do you put strikethrough the text though?

The single ~ reduces the font size.

For example

JackGreenEarth ,
CosmicCleric , (edited )
@CosmicCleric@lemmy.world avatar

Strange.

On the Lemmy web client its two tildes ~ for strikeout.

One tilde is the subset font size.

Before ^superset^ After ^superset^

Before subset After ~subset~

Before strikeout After ~~strikeout~~

Edit: Per this web page.

What client are you using?

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/legalcode.en

JackGreenEarth ,

Voyager. And this is how it looks, by the way.

What formatting text do they use for subscript/superscript?

The Lemmy help page for formatting has the formatting text I’m using.

Seems like others are having the same problem. Looks like the non-web clients need to add support for subscript and superscript to themselves.

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/legalcode.en

aeharding ,

Are you running outdated version of voyager? Because it looks fine to me

JackGreenEarth ,

Yes, I was. I checked in F-Droid and the reason it didn’t automatically update was something to do with an incompatible signature. But I updated it manually and it’s looking fine now.

hikaru755 ,

Seems like clients vary wildly in how they interpret this markup. This is how it shows on Sync:

I believe that the custom for a lot of wine patch notes is just to mention the first application reported with the bug even if it affects many applications. So that could be what’s happening here.

Tattorack , in Thrive 0.6.6 Trailer
@Tattorack@lemmy.world avatar

As a cell stage game Thrive is pretty good. As a realistic successor to SPORE it’s terrible; more than a decade and they’ve never managed to get anywhere beyond the cell stage.

The cell stage is getting better with each update, sure, but it seems like they haven’t even touched any other elements of their game.

@domi@lemmy.secnd.me avatar

So, what did they break this time?

I don’t think I have seen a single SteamVR update on Linux that didn’t break something.

BlastboomStrice , in Thrive 0.6.6 Trailer

Just downloaded it yesterday, along with the launcher!

Bit of a shame that it doesn’t support older saves…

Grass , in SuperTuxKart - On the way towards 1.5… and 2.0!

The menus still look like placeholders, but the track in the video looks amazing compared to what was in my memory of some fairly ancient version

just_another_person , in SuperTuxKart - On the way towards 1.5… and 2.0!

I’d totally pick this back up if there was a large community of people playing multiplayer. Love the improvements they’ve made.

million OP , (edited ) in Diablo 4 randomly stopped working
@million@lemmy.world avatar

I am starting to get convinced that the game is trying to use my integrated graphics vs my discrete GPU.

No idea how to fix that as I specified in Lutris that it should be using my discrete GPU.

million OP ,
@million@lemmy.world avatar

Got it working, this was totally it.

I tried a few wine configuration options, MESA_VK_DEVICE_SELECT and DRI_PRIME but to no avail.

I ended up just disabling my integrated GPU in my bios and it worked fine.

Cynthia ,

are you running amd, intel or nvidia dedicated gpu? Which igpu were you running intel or amd?

Asking in case in the future someone has a similar issue so they can use your solution.

million OP ,
@million@lemmy.world avatar

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX

Cynthia ,

thanks for providing the solution you found hopefully someone with the same situation or specs might use this information in the future.
