Maybe this is just me but I used to LOVE fast food, my fat ass would DoorDash Dairy Queen almost everyday during the pandemic. Ended up gaining 50lbs after I had just reached my goal for losing 100lbs-120lbs. I’m 210 now but I miss being around 170. (used to be 300 a couple years ago)
I can say now that I don’t eat fast food or Doordash anymore mostly because I feel like I’m eating micro plastic fake meat (may not be entirely true but maybe you know what I mean)

The better stories from Reddit. Everyone knows the most recent Reddit trend and the askreddits are filled with them. But the best stories are the ones from 10+ years ago.
Spanish Reddit is another classic that never gets mentioned. There’s a slew of them if you look at the old “What’s something people on Reddit should know about Reddit” askreddits.
What does “the better so tired from Reddit” mean? I genuinely can’t tell if you’re trolling me. What you said made no sense. I was on Reddit for a little while and don’t remember Spanish Reddit, poop knife, spooky, or Jesus ads.
Idk how long you were on there, but I was there for about 13yrs. and the “inside jokes” can be a little overwhelming at times. The Jesus Ads were the “He Gets Us” ads everywhere, if you never saw one then you must have used a client that didn’t have ads like Apollo, or paid for no ads through other clients.
As for the stories I’m talking if about, they all happened over a decade ago. You’d have to specifically search for them nowadays because like I said, they never get mentioned in those “Reddit history” askreddit threads anymore. All the stories mentioned nowadays have happened in the last couple years. IIRC, even poop knife is only like 6 or 7 years old.
Also I’m calling them stories because idk what else to call them. Some are threads, others are comments.
Oh shit, Streetlamp leMoose was another one I forgot about. Damn, there were so many greats that have been lost to time. The Search and Rescue series on no sleep. Talking about it is bringing up more and more memories.
There was a prophetic podcast episode from the series Plain English a while back that I constantly think about.
In that episode the author describes how the internet is going through a revolution.
Basically 20 years ago, the internet was all about gaining numbers. Companies could operate at a loss if they got people signed up. Facebook, Google, YouTube, Uber, Deliveroo, etc. they were all about getting you in their mailing list or consumer list and who cares what happens then.
Now there’s an issue because that model is not profitable. In order to continue, all the internet is moving towards subscription.
In a sense, I don’t think of that as intrinsically bad. Patreon is a good example. The internet is now filled up with so much shit that people are willing to pay to filter it. So with Patreon, you pay a fee to support an artist to produce the content you want. That itself isn’t a bad idea.
Now that being said, a lot of “bad things” do emerge. The fact that you can no longer buy software like Adobe and it’s all subscription based. That’s shit. But that also inspired software alternatives like Affinity Designer.

100% the biggest factor in me deciding to buy Magix Vegas (formerly Sony Vegas) video editing software was because they still sold lifetime codes. Have I gotten $400 worth of value out of it? Fuck no. But I can use it whenever I want for as long as I want without worrying about whether or not I can afford it for the month.
