It’s a little funny, but it’s better to crowd source a society and pay for things up front than it is to have every single thing be a toll. Could you imagine fire fighters verifying your credit card before they come out?
Why are those the only two options? If we’re free to organize ourselves and our communities how we want we could work out all sorts of innovative ways to make life suck less instead of one size fits all. Especially when that one size has a habit of impacting marginalized people more.
Technically it’s not really salty tasting, since Epsom salts are magnesium sulfate not sodium chloride, but it could still be considered “salty,” as ionic compounds like magnesium sulfate are a class of compounds collectively called “salts”
About 3 months ago I suddenly developed an indefatigable craving for olives. Since then I’ve eaten about a small jar a week. IDK if I’m pregnant (seems unlikely) or if olives are just a normal part of adulthood, similar to how everyone in college eats a lot of toast on occasion.
I do it after I warn them I’m going to block them if they continue with the behavior that makes me inclined to block them and they continue. I think it’s fair to let them know the consequences of their behavior.
99% of the sync spam I’ve seen has been from every community other than the sync community. I saw maybe 3 posts from there saying they liked the app and that’s it, and everywhere else I see posts from people having a fit over using or not using 1 out of like, what, 10 available apps? The spam really isn’t coming from the sync community specifically to begin with tbh.
Yeah lol. All the spam I’ve seen comes from the meme communities that had multiple posts complaining about Sync. Like I’ve seen more people complain it isn’t FOSS than anything else so far.
Only other major times I’ve seen it across lemmy was when it was up for pre-registration and when it came out. The former seemed to be spammed a ton because people thought it had actually came out and tried to spread the word & the latter was just people posting when it actually came out.
The complaining feels the same as when reddit mobile users kept laughing about 3rd party apps to feel superior in some way. I saw some actually comment how stupid some 3rd party app users were for paying for a paid app or subscription to view reddit when the official app was free.
I’m just going to ignore the rest of these posts after this and hide them. It all just makes them look obnoxious and full of themselves. Basically the type of shit that made me happy to leave Reddit.
My experience was personally the opposite, and I’m even subscribed to the sync community because I wanted to be able to see when it came out. Most of the sync stuff I’ve seen since it launched has been in other communities.
This is going to be very age related I think for most folks. Myself blue door after making and taking with me a list of lottery numbers and dates along with major sporting event outcomes and horse races for good measure. Oh also stocks along with buy sell dates and value on those dates.
Well, Lemmy users lately are reddit users. These users have been doing their best to turn Lemmy into what they recognize from reddit. And as everyone knows reddit users are porn sick.
I kind of miss those old Usenet days. Being 16 and waiting most of the night for a picture to load was great.
Back when I made sure to download the progressive JPEG, because loading single line top to bottom was hell. Unless there was a chance that the phone would be picked up, then I wanted regular JPEG, because then when I lost connection I still would have most of a picture.
In the early 90s, when I was a teen, I accessed the internet through the computer lab, downloaded tons of porn at a higher rate, uploaded the pics to local BBSes, got a huge ratio, downloaded tons of pirated games and had lots of porn. I was a genius back then. Not so much now.
