What I learned as a glass collector and glassblower is that if you use an item made from a fragile material, it will eventually get broken. The only way to keep such things forever is to put them on a shelf and not use them. If you want to experience it, you must accept that eventually it will be damaged or destroyed.
My (now second) favorite cat broke the handle of my favorite mug the other day. I think I’m gonna fix it with that gold powder laquer method and make it better.
I should do that with this one ceramic cow mug I have!
Unfortunately I had this awesome glass cow cup from meow wolf and it’s so shattered. People would bring me glass when I was a glassblower, like “can you fix this??” and… well, with glue, I guess, but not my melting it back together, usually.
Ok, then it's not only me. Leitmotif is easily the best looking of the bunch, but if it's read-only and I can't even customize what content it's showing me, it's sadly pretty much unusable right now.
I think it looks and feels nice, but I’m encountering all sorts of errors in literally every app (including wefwef, that decided to stop working completely as I tried to open it 5 minutes ago). While trying to comment right now, I got errors twice (this is from Connect for Lemmy).
IMO memmy is super nice and polished (the best app so far), the lemmy.world servers are pretty hammered at the moment, but they are due for an upgrade in the next few hours, so theoretically everything should get better. wefwef is pretty cool too
Yes. It affected every app that I used so far. The only one I’m not sure is connect for lemmy (android), because it has its own hide read posts settings.
If you’re comfortable with the command line, you could use a tool like ffmpeg to do this on your own computer. You might need to know the format of the video file and the format that you want to make the audio file, though.
I know that 'disordered' probably has a technical meaning here, but it's interesting to me that we as humans look at a structure that has ~100% efficiency and label it "disordered" because that structure is non-uniform.
