My favorite XCOM 2 mods basically make the game a Star Wars rebellion game.
It’s actually really fun to have a bunch of clone rebels taking the fight to the empire. Or it was. I buggered something so all I have working now are the armories, so it’s more a bunch of clone troopers are helping the resistance against the aliens. Still fun.
I stopped playing XCOM 1. I had a squad of heavies in mech suits and everything. My perfect team for this mission. A bug hunt in newfoundland. Something about chrysalids in a whaling town. Everyone still died. I managed to get one guy out, everyone else died ammo spent and brass bloody. But it’s the one level I can’t bring myself to try again
XCOM 1 was my introduction to the series, and those damned chryssalids nearly broke me.
I used a clone trooper mod for one run, and it was lots of fun. The only drawback was that I couldn’t remember who was who, since they all looked the same.
Unsolicited pro tips: Hit the hanging fish with explosives on your way to the ship. They have sneaky bugs inside that will pop out and ambush your squad when they’re re running away, but not if you blast them first!
Once you get to the boat, keep your squad near the back on the top level in a defensive formation and run your fastest troop, by themselves, to the lever to pull it and run back asap. That way if they get trapped, you minimize the casualty count.
Then run like hell and get out of there.
Also, don’t use mechs lol. They’re probably about the worst troop type vs Chrysalids, so a whole squad is not going to serve you well, as you may have noticed.
Oh no, i take phone breaks between my shits. Usually when i’m shitting i’m figuring out solutions to the worlds problems, disproving well established theorems and stuff. However when i’m done shitting i keep forgetting the solutions so here we are.
I get it’s a meme, but it should be “Toxic gamers”.
A competitive game, in a competitive mode usually attracts competitive people. These people want to win, are playing to win, etc. This is the enviroment made for that. People complaing in non competitive modes are just toxic people.
But it’s also toxic to enter a competitive mode as a casual, cause a loss for your teammates, then blame it on " I just play to have fun XD".
I want to argue a nuance that toxic overcompetativeness is a meta issue in gaming, not a direct issue with competitive games. Like it’s just as toxic to be like overly competitive with casual shit, though you’re more likely to be called out as the insane person you are if you’re being toxic over say something like animal crossing than if you’re playing league.
I do agree with what you’re saying though, it probably should just say toxic gamers to cover all of that because this is the internet and nuance has no transmission ability here.
It just had a janky vibe to it. I don’t wish to be misunderstood here. I saw it as a interesting detail to comment on, and I pointed out it could just be me overthinking it, I never intended to judge the quality of the joke on this.
Oh sorry, I didn’t actually realize I was reading into that a judgement that wasn’t there. I thought you were implying it was a bad/valueless joke because it used generated art.
Totally agree with it being a janky vibe though. Feels a bit cursed haha
I remember I switched to chrome way back when chrome was first becoming popular because of its speed compared to Firefox in like 2010 or something. Firefox caught up within a year and I have never missed Chrome for a second.
Oh, I was similar. When Chrome was new I liked it, but it seems to be vulnerable to get these weird superfluous add-ons that I may have acquired through malicious links. When I switched to Firefox I wasn’t as suseptible to malware, and the speed was just as good.
