Same thing happened with Trials of Mana unfortunately,the remake is good and I liked it but losing co-op is like losing half of the game in this series. I still remember how fun it was playing the original with my brother years ago (had to patch the ROM cause there wasn’t an english release)

My comment never at any point claimed it was sustainable or that their economic growth was ethical and somehow beneficial to the population. In the context of this post, that has someone talking about how Hitler would be nicer if he was financially successful I said that because to him he was successful, and to the countries economy he really was. Economic performance has nothing to do with a population’s quality of life, as it can be seen in China, but even so, when compared to Weimar republic it was still arguably better for everyone,which is the lowest bar ever.
I’m not a nazi apologist, none of that makes what they did right or desireable, I’m just pointing it out that nothing would have changed if the likedin’‘s insane post actually came true. Heck, if he made more money he would just spend even more on the army just like your own link says, the economy’ s only purpuse to him was to build an army so they could steal more through conquest.

It was a necessary “drama” imo. You mentioned the stress the team was put through but also I think Linus’ ego needed to be brought down a lot. The way he talked on wan show about the cooler is like someone who thinks he is a tech god, saying something is bad is expected but outright claiming the product is worthless and will never amount to anything is just bad taste specially when you got it for free AND didn’t bother testing it properly.

One can hope this situation will bring positive lasting change to the way the company is run but also the image Linus has of himself.

It does make it worse because by accepting a free item they have a commitment to making at the very least a decent review, they didnt have to accept it, they could have sent it back (specially considering it was their prototype, you cannot buy a product at that stage). If they bought it and decided to shove it up their ass to test how well it cools their intestines I would find it extremely weird but fuck it, they bought it and they can do w/e they want with it.

The problem is that they couldn’t buy it if they wanted, product wasn’t release yet. This kind of review can only happen by receiving the product for free, if they weren’t happy with that they shouldn’t have accepted it and since they did accept then they have to make a review in due time with proper procedures then return the product (and the GPU that apparently they lost) as fast as possible.

That’s why the thing being ‘free’ makes what they did after even worse, they committed to it and fucked up royally. And I never said ‘good reviews’ just well done reviews instead of using a non supported GPU and just drawing conclusions out of his ass

I would have conflicted feelings about it if I were the devs, often speed runners even forget or don’t even know the story of the game they run lol I imagine it’s like spending all day cooking something really nice and your serve it to someone who absolutely loves the dish but mainly because of the plate you served it on, they come back every day to order it only to throw the food away and stare at the plate

Your experience doesn’t invalidate mine. I watch speedrun events very often and and runners will say stuff “Im not really sure why he wants to kill us but skips the entire fight with clever use of game mechanics that was the boss fight!”. Many of them did play the entire game without speedrunning at first, but many dont.

Everytime we see anything anti war on Israel side it’s always people worried about soldier or hostages, at least from what I can tell. No a shred of worry for the Palestinians.

Man, when I was studying in the US there was this girl from Israel, she was super sweet and nice, very extroverted. During a party she shared her Facebook and a someone noticed she had a picture with a gun and she talked about how she had to go through training for a year and even showed us how she could carry the heaviest guy there using what she learned.

The one guy asked her about Palestinians (why, just why). I swear I never saw someone change her demeanor so quickly. The sweet woman became pure hatred in one second, she started talking how they were less than human, murderers, just pure evil and should wiped off the face of the earth, how they were the reason she and other young people had to go through compulsory military training. That was one wild thing to see, and it was clear that hatred was passed down to her since she was young and didn’t seem to have gone through much.
