Disregarding the question but commenting on the material, I don’t think this is generally true. In labeling something as forever upfront (e.g., marriage, which generally includes a “forever clause”), it’s only natural though.
Contrast marriage with a “summer fling” — the expectation is a duration of at most one summer. Not really considered a failure (which is kinda the plot of Grease, dated though that may be…)
There was a great restaurant near me (Michelin star), and it closed a while back — the owner was upfront that he just had a kid and wanted to spend more time together. I don’t think anyone views that as a failure. A loss for the community, definitely, but not a failure.
I can think of two fairly active potential homes for that content: Showerthoughts, which is for random trains of thought that you think others might relate to. Lemmy Be Wholesome is for content that you feel elevates people’s moods, is supportive, shares good vibes and so on.
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !showerthoughts, !lemmybewholesome

me: “I like my current lifestyle and have a good group of close friends.”
Politicknick: “you support a LGBTQ fascist regime that is hell bent on nazifying the leftist zionistic palestinian in kiev with socialist capitalism, and you should feel horrible about yourself before we kill you and you die.”
I think the mangled English there is suggesting that some people don’t care enough, and other people have enough money (to buy Windows).
Not that it matters because who the fuck pays for Windows anyway? OEMs do, but not normal people. Everything since like Windows 7 has been a free upgrade, and normies get a new PC more often than that so get a copy with it.
Not all computers are eligible for a free upgrade, my work desktop (windows 10) got a pop up about ending support & that my computer isn’t eligible for an upgrade to windows 11.
Edited to add: this post is so old idk why I commented. Sorry lol
The best part is, unless that function name is misleading, it doesn’t matter how the data is passed; a copy is being sent out over TCP/IP to another device regardless.
XFCE is my preferred DE when I’m using one. It’s got a long lineage going back to FVWM and the setup remains consistent between new updates. I appreciate how it stays out of the way.
For anybody else following along, XFCE is working on Wayland support. In fact, the only component not already supporting Wayland in Git is XFWM4 itself. Wayland will ship officially as part of the 4.20 release.
They are creating an abstraction library that will allow XFCE to support both X and Wayland. Other desktop environments are going to use it as well.
