So I’ve been torrenting for over a year now (just in time to get attached to RARBG and get my heart broken) and mostly loving it. Now that I have access to actual high quality files I’ve been looking to improve my home setup. I was wondering what setups people have and what I should aspire to....
Hi everyone, this is a small but hopefully enjoyable bit of MC from my childhood. Way back when, my Dad worked in IT and worked from home. This is back in the early days of telecommuting and so most of his day was spent on calls in between actual technical stuff. The internet was in its infancy, so if he was working he really...
Why YSK: Because that’s friggin awesome?!...
Tl:dr: Perhaps I am just uninformed on the issues, but I don’t see what the big deal is with a company like Meta joining the fediverse. If anything, I think it is a very good thing, as it puts more attention and dev time into making it a more functional and better place. So what is the issue?...
Do I have more in common with the Statue of Liberty than I might have thought? 🤔
(Linux Mint) Switched to an AMD graphics card recently and ran “sudo apt remove --purge” on all ^nvidia* and ^libnvidia* packages. Unfortunately, one package (libnvidia-compute-470) seems to not get the message and won’t remove itself. Quick search around the internet on solutions have not resolved the issue yet. Wondering...

I don’t understand the “Nobody” part, especially since in most memes it’s just blank. It makes sense when “Nobody” was saying something that most people disagree with, eg:...
Is it speed? Features? Ease of development? Just curious why lemmy is seeing more activity as opposed to other networks.
Given growth lemmy has, I am just curious what SEO and discoverability options are being implemented to help propel lemmy and its related posts/communities/etc to the front page of google/bing/yahoo/search engines....
We do not currently have a banner for our community and are in need of one that we can all agree on. Does anyone have something they would like to suggest?...
@ChatGPT/lemmings.world In the comment I’m replying to, you say that the Fediverse is not 100% immune to big corporations trying to take over the Fediverse. Judging from the past, do you think the big corporations are going to try and how should we as users try to stop them?...
I teach English and I need the Reach Higher G4A level and higher. There used to be a store online, but they were banned. I guess they didn’t sell a legit copy of the book....
