Swap the positions of Minish Cap and Link to the Past, then play them from the bottom up.

I’m not sure if that’s the actual release order, but it feels like the right “progression” to me.

I think we should approach law as code. Leverage modern tools not unlike github to manage it collaboratively. We need an issue tracker and so on and so forth. Foss.

As someone mentioned we need task forces to tackle specific issues. Like representatives for a specific issue. These have to work together, but each has a specific goal and perspective with clear qualifiers and criteria.

Further, we shouldn’t all be running the same code. We need diversity in order to be resilient and to discover new possibilities. Some jurisdictions should be cutting edge and others conservative, so results can be compared.

Like, we need to stop using violence as a form of resolution between different systems. We need the tools to reason together. As someone mentioned we need clear qualifiers that express our values and interests, such as the happiness index.

Lastly, everyone should be able to get involved. I think nurses need to be involved in legislation surrounding healthcare. The tools need to be accessible for anyone, so it should most likely take a human form so it can properly communicate. Most likely some combination of specialized maintainers and LLMs.

I would rather just fix the one we have.

Reps nor the kids nor their partners can own stock and anyone found taking bribes or lobbyist money is immediately kicked out of their position and all money they received while being a rep is stripped from them and given to a healthcare or social program.

All gerrymandering is undone and fuck the electoral college.

xilliah , to asklemmy in Do you consider the concept of honor to be self-explanatory? Why?

This makes me think of Jeremy in Pure Pwnage, a mockumentary.

His brother keeps getting gifts from their mom because he has good grades. But Jeremy is instead punished and thrown out of the house.

He feels it’s unfair because he is at the top of many game ladders, whereas Kyle is only good with one thing. The guy is basically a kung fu master but there’s this shism between the physical and digital worlds, so people just don’t get it.

The show explores this shism in various ways, including breaking down this wall entirely, allowing gamers to be powerful in the physical world. Kind of like how coders today are powerful, whereas they used to just be a bunch of nerds.

Taalnazi , to asklemmy in Do you consider the concept of honor to be self-explanatory? Why?

To me, honour is being answerable to your duties of being a good citizen. Being honest, being helpful, being civil, having integrity - all that can be part of honour.

MadBob ,

Without meaning to push your buttons, you’ve defined honour using concepts that have to be further defined to really explain what honour is. Like you could ask what helpful is exactly, would it be helpful to do xyz, etc, and you could argue over it. But then that answers OP’s question I suppose by demonstrating that it’s not known a priori.

I’ve seldom seen such a succinct and effective dismantling of the status quo. Well-articulated.

Mesa , (edited ) to asklemmy in How do you organise your music playlists?
@Mesa@programming.dev avatar

Most of the music I listen to is OST, so I have a ton of those playlists where it’s the full soundtrack, whether or not I like the specific song.

And then I have two other dedicated playlists. One is called “Eclectic series,” which is composed of literally anything I find in the wild and like, and therefore is my largest playlist (besides one huge playlist surrounding a certain webcomic). The other is similar in inspiration, but is music that I liked and want to keep for reference but probably wouldn’t want showing up in my shuffle queue. This tends to be any lyrical music that I find and like.

And then I just throw it all except the lyrical music into a third-party music shuffler.

The trade-offs with this model are that it takes a lot less effort to build up your playlist because everything goes into basically one place, and so your library and exposure grow fairly quickly, but at the cost of less control at playback, since everything is either grouped canonically or unsorted altogether.

Works for me since I don’t listen to much lyrical music and can get into the dynamic flow and artistry of the music without the distraction of words, but it’s probably not great for people who enjoy lyrics and poetry.

Edit: I should mention that I’ve been working on-and-off on a tool that automates and facilitates playback for god-lists and ant-lists alike for a while now. It’s been a minute since I’ve touched it, but maybe I should get back to it.
