Wistful , to asklemmy in FOSS Android Object Removal Tool?
@Wistful@discuss.tchncs.de avatar

I’m afraid not. Only open source way of achieving that, that I can think of would be self hosting stable diffusion and using web ui on your phone. Which probably wouldn’t be really easy nor convenient.

A long shot would be making a feature request for ImageToolbox to implement something like that.

THEWIZARD OP ,

What stable diffusion has a retouch option on PC’s then? And that is extremely ironic mentioning request it in ImageToolbox I actually already have haven’t heard back yet though.

I’m not a stable diffusion guru, but yeah, you can remove objects using inpaint feature. It definitely wouldn’t be straight forward thing to do though, and probably not a great experience since web ui is not really good on the mobile devices, but I haven’t used it in a while, maybe it got improved.

And that is extremely ironic mentioning request it in ImageToolbox I actually already have haven’t heard back yet though.

¯*(ツ)*/¯ I couldn’t have known you already did.

THEWIZARD OP ,

I’ll have a look on some offline diffusion tool I have for low powered machines and see if it can inject a image and touch it up unlikely but worth a shot then.

The steps below are high level, but should provide an outline of how to accomplish what you’re asking for without having to associate your IP address to any domains nor publicly exposing your reverse proxy and the services behind the reverse proxy. I assume since you’re running Proxmox that you already have all necessary hardware and would be capable of completing each of the steps. There are more thorough guides available online for most of the steps if you get stuck on any of them.

  1. Purchase a domain name from a domain name registrar
  2. Configure the domain to use a DNS provider (eg: Cloudflare, Duck DNS, GoDaddy, Hetzner, DigitalOcean, etc.) that supports wild card domain challenges
  3. Use NginxProxyManager, Traefik, or some other reverse proxy that supports automatic certificate renewals and wildcard certificates
  4. Configure both the DNS provider and the reverse proxy to use the wildcard domain challenge
  5. Setup a local DNS server (eg: PiHole, AdGuardHome, Blocky, etc.) and configure your firewall/router to use the DNS server as your DNS resolver
  6. Configure your reverse proxy to serve your services via domains with a subdomain (eg: service1.domain.com, service2.domain.com, etc.) and turn on http (port 80) to https (port 443) redirects as necessary
  7. Configure your DNS server to point your services’ subdomains to the IP address of your reverse proxy
  8. Access to your services from anywhere on your network using the domain name and https when applicable
  9. (Optional) Setup a VPN (eg: OpenVPN, WireGuard, Tailscale, Netbird, etc.) within your network and connect your devices to your VPN whenever you are away from your network so you can still securely access your services remotely without directly exposing any of the services to the internet
Oxymoron , (edited ) to nostupidquestions in how do I accept that a doctor earns more than double what I do?

Think you probably went into the wrong career if your aim was to earn a lot of money, if wages are similar to the UK.

Even if they somehow got sacked for being lazy or whatever, it doesn’t affect your salary, so I wouldn’t really obsess about it? It obviously takes a lot more training to become a doctor and that’s why they’re paid better. Along with the massive responsibility. I’m sure it’s a stressful job and it could be that those other doctors just don’t like that doctor and so are talking shit about them. You don’t monitor this doctor the whole day (if you do then it sounds like you’re not doing your job very well), so you can’t really say how he spends all his time.

Maybe he’s just coasting now, having done the hard stuff. But he had to do the hard work beforehand to get qualified. But yeah if you wanna be a doctor and think you can do it then make that your aim I guess?

Of course you could earn more money doing another job completely unrelated to healthcare if you trained up and progressed enough.

If you enjoy your job then I wouldn’t worry. If you don’t then try to retrain.

spankmonkey , to linux in Why does VirtualBox keep launching on boot?

www.baeldung.com/…/virtualbox-vm-start-on-boot

To successfully automate a VirtualBox VM to start at boot time, we must ensure we’re running VirtualBox version 5 and above.

By default, after installing VirtualBox, the vboxautostart-service unit file should exist in the /etc/systemd/system/ directory.

Alternatively, for systems missing the vboxautostart service, we can create a custom systemd unit file that will contain our configurations to run VirtualBox on boot. systemd is a system and service manager for most Linux-based OSes.

Didn’t see you mention the autostart-service, and the article is recent enough that maybe it was added as part of an update?

Katana314 , to lemmyshitpost in Wild times in a wild world

There’s a game around time travel called Quantum Break that brings up this topic.

Someone brings detailed messages to their past self…and acknowledges, as a way of proving it, that September 11 is going to happen - but due to the way time works, no matter who they warn or what they say, no one will believe them and nothing will change.

I don’t even know if everyone read that bit of text lore ingame, but it was pretty emotional.
