The Surface Pro keyboard is actually quite good, with the added bonus that it’s also easily detachable.

testfactor OP ,

No, it was kind of a standalone type web forum. Greyish background, iirc.

Pretty sure I was linked it from Lemmy, and I don’t subscribe to no sleep here.

EmoPolarbear , to selfhosted in Vaultwarden has such a steep learning curve
@EmoPolarbear@lemmy.ca avatar

Honestly these things are really vital to learn if you want to be self hosting, however if you’re unfamiliar with them I would not start with your password vault. You’re almost certainly going to make mistakes and risk losing the vault. I would learn on something less vital then once you’re feeling more comfortable add vault warden.

UnpledgedCatnapTipper ,

On the positive side, if your vaultwarden server dies, the cached vault on any/all of your devices can be logged into and export the vault.

I believe your SD it’s fried, you should try using a variant of SBC with eMMC support. Like for example a Banana Pi M4 Berry or a Orange Pi 3B with eMMC module.

stupidcasey , to selfhosted in Caddy and forgejo

Learn NGINX that is the only answer, it’s a B!+€# to get configured but once you know how it will save you so much time, If you want cheat mode run the docker image and use the web interface but make sure to rtfm there are some gotch ya’s

keyez , to selfhosted in Server Access Log Admin Dashboard?

Kibana/ES is overkill and not worth it. I have Loki, promtail and grafana setup for my 4 VMs and 2 systems. Took about a week to get dashboards and stuff going (plus geoip and worldmap plugin config for my public servers) but haven’t had to touch them in about 2 years since.

I had a whole argument with a bud about her PhD in breakdancing.

My take was that she pushed breakdancing into the human consciousness significantly more than anyone in history ever has so she deserves that PhD, very few people know the name of the person who won the gold but a ton more remember raygun or at the very least ‘that breakdancing lady’. Regardless of how skillfull she actually is. Also, iirc she was actually a classical dance teacher at that school and this was just in response to the Olympics adding breakdancing, I watched an interview where she said something along the lines of ‘I didn’t even care for breakdancing’.

Interesting thought exercise, but a WILD take. Notoriety shouldn’t be considered the same as actual accomplishment. Otherwise, John Wayne Gacy should be considered the best clown of all time.

Phil Kim/Phil Wizard (the gold medalist) is a pretty accomplished breaker/bboy.

@whotookkarl@lemmy.world avatar

Their veg options are some of the better ones in fast food if they haven’t jacked up their prices around you. Potato taco, cheese quesadilla, bean and rice burrito are all good enough options for fast food

Dearth ,

You can swap out meat for beans on any of their items. Taco bell is the best fast food option for vegetarian folks

nooneescapesthelaw , to asklemmy in What were or are your thoughts on the US Pres. Debate?

Trump started off coherent, but ~30% in he went of the rails.

Kamala on the other hand looks like she has no strong values, she doesn’t seem like a Dem candidate. What kind of Dem candidate is pro fracking? Kamala honestly seems disingenuous.

Trump on the other hand didn’t form more than 20 complete sentences, so I can’t really call him disingenuous because he doesn’t seem to stand for anything

CoggyMcFee ,

What kind of Dem candidate is pro fracking?

One who exists in a fucked up electoral system where the entire fate of our country rests upon a few thousand votes in western PA.

yeah, messing with apt just to push a service really doesn’t sit well. And they don’t stop there, snaps are preferred over apt packages in Ubuntu Land.

Rade0nfighter , (edited )
@Rade0nfighter@lemmy.world avatar

Do feel it is designed to scare normal users though.

Like how the GUI software updater now shows a list of security updates, and then “there are more security updates available with Ubuntu pro” in the list of updates…. the obvious implication is “you’re computer has other known vulnerabilities that can only be fixed if you pay up”.

Liiittlle bit ransomey and let be honest that’s by design.

Wouldn’t consider myself part of the anti canonical pitchfork crowd but that new behaviour did irk me somewhat.

If Microsoft did that people would be up in arms. Appreciate canonical provide Ubuntu is free but normal users wouldn’t get that nuance as they don’t think they pay for windows.

Google doesn’t seem to find anything with that title when I Google it?

The Ash Tree seems to be some early 1900s story, and Daniel Harms doesn’t seem to have anything of that title as far as I can tell. :(
