Appreciate the solicited technical advice, less so the unsolicited parenting advice, thanks! You’ll be shocked to hear that hyperbole exists, I’m sure. I’m just trying to watch the Aristocats with the kiddo without them wondering why the screen stops mid song, stranger.
I think it’s a matter of taste. I prefer JRPGs, so FFVII is the best one for me. But both are great games in their own right.
Ocarina is more innovative and its formula was copied for many years. Z Targetting especially (I know some other game used something very similar before OOT), set an example for everyone to follow.
And FFVII, while not that innovative, also set its own legacy: if not for FFVII the West would have missed many great JRPGs from then on. It opened the floodgates and publishers started thinking of US and Europe as viable markets for JRPGs. So we have FFVII to thank for that.
Haven’t used Kodi but am running Jellyfin via the official docker image on a Raspberry Pi 4. Even there transcoding works reasonably well for one user at a time, admittedly didn’t try with several users at the same time so far.
Just mentioning the docker image because I used to install it without docker directly via the repository and I never got transcoding to work on the same hardware.
English, and the teeniest, tiniest bit of Spanish.
My Spanish is in a southern accent, and doesn’t even reach the fluency of a damn toddler.
I have more latin under my belt from medical terminology, which I guess is sort of a language of its own. I’ve been out of the field for over a decade, and I still do well with it casually reading publications that interest me. But I don’t really have enough of the latin to equate to being able to speak latin, or even read it. Same with the greek that’s folded into medicalese.
So just english in any real sense, though I can kinda read Spanish well enough I guess, as long as I have access to a dictionary lol.
Podcasts are a leftover from the non centralized and non-monetized internet of the past. Because is that most Podcasts are still available as rss feeds, so you should only ever get adds if they are spoken by the Podcasts hosts. Ate you taking about those? Only something like sponsorblock would help against those. I use antennapod (fdroid) on android to listen to Podcasts. Sine hosts always start their podcast with an add, but you can autoskip the first minute of a certain podcast with antennapod every time. It has a setting for that. Antenna pod itself is foss software without adds.
I would suggest looking into TiniMiniMicro used PC and let NAS do NAS things. Try to get a PC with decent number of thread and put as much RAM as it supports. Install ProxMox on it and go nuts. Learn Linux TV has a great series of videos on it.
Sure, just devise a plan where throwing better results in statistical sexual advantages and wait 50k years. Problem is, by that time, the universe will be a monoculture of Arch Linux users.
