I wondered about this before but apparently the Telegram client is terrible spaghetti code under the hood, making these kind of ideas not feasible.
You might like Monocles Chat though, which is an Android XMPP client with a somewhat nicer looking interface.
There is also the work in progress Moxxy client, which is a from ground up new XMPP client written in Flutter. It seems to take some interface inspiration from Telegram, but to be honest, it isn’t anywhere near to be fully usable and development has been slow in recent months.
To be fair, it’s not easy to make a big open world that feels immersive and competes with linear games in terms of fidelity (art, rendering, sound, music, etc), even if you know exactly where the player will go and what they’ll do. Trying to then account for every possible permutation of game state and player action is an exponential explosion of work. Without some kind of AI figuring out a believable way for the game to respond in any given situation, your only practical option is to make some assumptions, pick a small set of “golden paths” and polish those.
R* devs work their asses off to an ethically questionable degree as it is, I don’t think it’s fair to imply they’re not making the best possible experience at that scale with the technology available.
Intermittent fasting. It’s the only “diet” plan I was actually able to stick with. Just over a year now and I lost 12-15 lbs down to my ideal weight. I think the main thing was that I stopped snacking late into the evening.
My mom is. That’s about it. My grandparents are all passed now, but they were mostly either racist, or highly opinionated with little regard for evidence.
The point is not in the form but in the critical mass of users to achieve an active community. Lemmy (and Reddit before) are way superior in every way to forums on the technical software side.
We need more people. Share, comment and participate. That’s the only way to create a community
Alright, as much as I want to give Microsoft the double birds and leave, way too many modding programs are .exe based.
And I just cannot yet be fucked to learn how to do per-app emulation. It scares me, things just sort of work here, and I can give them one and a half birds by removing almost all their telemetry garbage.
That being said I do really like the idea of Linux, I just want a little bit more idiot friendliness out of it
I have a Windows VM specifically for that purpose. Game directories are mounted as network drives. The only issue is that I can’t use hardlink deployment in Vortex, but Nexus is making a new app to replace it that might have a Linux-native release.
Apart from niche forum who are still active but slowly dying, there’s not so much anymore, since social media came. Reddit was the right mix of forum and social media. Lemmy could be too. But it less easy to understand and use than a classical forum for common people. And there’s not this “organized” topic forum thing. (Reddit too).
But with social media become less comfortable to use, less interesting, perhaps forum alike will rise again.
Actually, if you just want to feel some “old” web, what it still active is “webrings” stuff. Basically, people make their own little website, with just html/CSS, and they are part of a webring, where you can surf between each website inside of it. And it tend to have this 2000’s web vibe.
Here’s one for example, but there’s lot a different webrings, with different theme sometimes. And it can be hard to find. ring.recurse.com
What are some of these connections men need out of a marriage?
Basically the same connections that women need out of a marriage. A peer group, a purpose, and friend groups to share interests with.
Unfortunately many, if not most, people simply don’t know how to go about it. They throw themselves into their work and whatever of their time is leftover gets dedicated to family. The interests and friends that they had prior to marriage and kids are left behind and those sacrifices leave them feeling alone and unfulfilled. They also don’t understand WHY they feel that way when to the best of their understanding they’re doing everything right!
Marriage isn’t, except in exceedingly rare instances, a “one stop shop” where your partner somehow magically fulfills your every need. That’s straight up Disney Movie bullshit.
People, regardless of gender identity, absolutely REQUIRE relationships outside of their marriage.
