Cruising USA! Played beat that entire game while listening to Third Eye Blind first album. Good times.

vrighter , to nostupidquestions in Why are weather apps so bad at telling you the current weather?

just because it knows where you are, doesn’t mean it has measurement equipment there.

Etterra ,

Especially because in some places, with more or less frequency, it can be raining somewhere and not raining a mile from there, and randomly just interspersed around randomly. I hear Florida is exactly like that and it makes them extremely hostile towards meteorologists.

Weed helps. When I can’t have any i just drink until I get sick instead, and let the sadness wash over me like jello over olives in a horrifying fifties salad.

Ok, whomever the fuck downvoted this person needs to get real. Who would do that? Seriously!

Reminds me of “All Through the House” from Love, Death, and Robots. I highly recommend the series.

That’s my thinking as well. A long time o ago in reddit, people were always claiming things were reposts, but it was new to me.

Are there bots on lemmy? I didn’t like the idea of those repost bots on reddit.

FlihpFlorp ,

Some clients will highlight bots

If you go to lemmy.world on a browser you can hide accounts that have flagged themselves as bots

I have bot accounts hidden because during the Reddit Exodus there was so many bots posting content form reddit to ideally drive engagement and discussion but no one commented so they just felt spammy to me

Hopefully this makes sense I had to stop mid sentence to do something and I’m too tired to proof read

InternetCitizen2 , to nostupidquestions in How come it shows that I have 7 messages? Then when I click on it it shows nothing?

Those comments might be set to a language. You can set a default language on your account settings

kambusha , to asklemmy in What would you do with a bitcoin windfall?

I’m not sure how much the bitcoins compare to your overall wealth, but it’s generally ok to put 1-5% into high-risk ventures. Bitcoin is worth something at the moment, because people trust that it is worth something. It doesn’t matter that you can’t really use it for anything at the moment (i.e., it’s not more efficient for transactions, or moving money across borders, and you definitely can’t eat it, or make anything with it). Given that major institutions and retirement accounts (and even countries) are investing in bitcoin via ETFs or directly, you could say that there is a level of trust in bitcoin that it will maintain & increase in price.

Long story short, it’s ok to have a small portion of your overall portfolio in a high-risk/high-reward venture. So you may consider keeping some of it in bitcoin, and converting the rest into low-cost index funds.

Get a glass. Fill it with crushed ice. Pour about an inch worth of vodka in, then about a quarter inch of lemon juice. Fill the remainder of the glass with tonic water. Repeat about 7-8 times over the course of a couple of hours.

As a bonus, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is on Netflix. Great movie. Kind of reminds me of Lethal Weapon back in the day, but still a seriously great and funny movie. Well worth a watch. Judge Reinhold is seriously underrated.
