Enelokk , to asklemmy in What are your thoughts on restricting children’s access to pornography online?

I’m definitely in favor of some rules for porn, and that basic rule is being of age. Administrators of pornographic servers should also sort harmful content and select videos. He also had some problems in the past www.pornhub.com and had to delete some videos, so you have to choose sites with a gentler obasaho for adults www.pornann.com/nl. However, I am strongly against the state banning tasteful pornography. Recently, there are only commands, prohibitions and dictating to people how they should live and what they should do. No way!!

CaptainBasculin , to newcommunities in Watch Dogs - A community for discussing the Watch Dogs video game franchise

I really liked the first game; had mixed opinions on second game, with the rumors Legion introducing microtransactions somehow on its release I didn’t even bother playing the third game.

cheesecakecat OP , (edited )
@cheesecakecat@lemmy.world avatar

I think almost everyone agrees that Legion is the worst entry in the franchise and I completely agree. The story was bland and the play as everyone system wasn’t very fleshed out. I nevertheless had a lot of fun with it by focusing on the sandbox/open world aspects instead of the story and characters. Something that is very important to me about video games is their worldbuilding and every Watch Dogs game has absolutely nailed that IMO. Legions dystopian cyberpunk London is stunning to look at and move around and the way the player experiences this mass-surveillance police state around them is truly captivating. Learning about messed up artificial intelligence experiments, the development of technology making it even easier for the government and companies to spy on citizens and seeing, reading about and listening to people suffer the direct consquences of this more than made up for the lackluster story in my eyes. So much in fact that I spent over a hundred hours in this game and still come back to it regularly even though support has been dropped long ago. Microtransactions didn’t bother me as they are completely optional and can only be used to purchase skins and characters that mostly aren’t much different to those you can recruit in the base game. One exception is the Bloodlines DLC, which was a redeeming addition to the game in many peoples eyes. It features a really well done story featuring Aiden Pearce from the first game and Wrench from Watch Dogs 2 (and only those, no recruiting citizens here!), both being fan favorite Characters. The DLCs short but sweet main story and the side missions with some unexpected twists were enjoyable to me and brought back what many loved about the old games. After the launch of Legion there were also two books and one graphic novel released that tie into Legions story with the authors taking what was best about the game, the setting and location, and adding an exciting storyline with great characters on top of it. To sum it up, I totally get why people dislike Legion and in my eyes the first and second games are far superior. Nevertheless, perhaps due to my priorities regarding the aspects of video games or willingness to invest more time into a seemingly lackluster game because of my love for the previous titles, I consider it to be a decent, if not a good video game. To anyone being unsure about picking the game up, I’d reccommed doing so during a sale, where the base games price often falls below 10$.

Have you looked at Sony phones? I recently switched to the Pixel Fold from a 1 Mark IV. Sony phones are some of the best IMO.

averyminya ,

Came here to say, why is OP dealing with all these bloatware companies? Samsung is the Apple of Androids - decent hardware decent OS for those who like it, but ridiculously bogged down with prevention features.

I also have the Sony Xperia 1 IV and it’s been stellar. Lineage support if I don’t want the main Android, otherwise I’m pretty much free to do whatever I want on the phone. Plus I actually have a headphone jack still and an SD card slot.

Gailthesnail2 ,

Sonys have the stupid 21:9 aspect ratio that’s like a tv remote. Camera also sucks vs the competition despite sony making the lenses and their own standalone cameras

averyminya ,

The camera’s don’t suck, it’s that Sony doesn’t apply post processing. If you edit the photo like a photographer would they look as good or better.

Sony excels at product, sucks at marketing. Their phones are truly fantastic.

Gailthesnail2 ,

How? Even though sony makes camera lenses, their smartphone cameras are terrible compared to the competition and their own standalone cameras

The fact that a tech news company has no one that knows how to build a PC is mind boggling. Then it was sponsored by Capital one…

Unraid and Truenas are pretty popular. Openmediavault is less popular, but a pretty simple system based on Debian.

BlackEco ,
@BlackEco@lemmy.blackeco.com avatar

TrueNAS SCALE expects you to deploy Kubernetes clusters, it is unfortunately not meant for running plain Docker. You can jump through hoops to get it working but I personally gave up and ended up running a VM on top of TrueNAS just to run Docker on it.

I don’t know about Unraid though and OpenMediaVault felt a bit unpolished the last time I used it and I can’t attest for its ZFS support.

Mrb2 ,

Truenas scale is switching to docker compose. I found this out when the truecharts catalog suddenly stopped working. more info

BlackEco ,
@BlackEco@lemmy.blackeco.com avatar

Holy molly, I wasn’t expecting this! Well, I guess I’ll try that out once Electric Eel’s released

golli ,

I am currently using Openmediavault for my NAS and can confirm that with an official plugin so far I havent had any issue with my ZFS pool (that I migrated from trueNAS scale since I didn’t like their kubernetes use and truecharts, but as someone mentions they seem to switch to docker).

Otherwise I am happy as well, but I am far from a poweruser.

variants ,

I’ve been happy with unraid, super simple to use and the community apps makes it easy to find and install docker containers

Very cool! I agree about avoiding most of the sub feeds.

If you don’t mind, could you add some Canadian news providers?

Not news, but if you think it might be nice, webcomics:

You may need an RSS feed detector for some of these. I don’t see a button on the site for a few, but I added them somehow a few months ago.

otter ,

A more general thought/suggestion:

Have a general support community that people can post in, and pin a post from it on the instance so people know where to post with requests and ideas. You could also include a link to the communities page or some other list of all communities that are available. It could help with discoverability

Also feel free to cross post to !communitypromo

PhilipTheBucket OP ,

This is an excellent idea. I made !meta and made a sticky post.

PhilipTheBucket OP ,

I added !cbc and !globalnews for you.

I know there’s already !xkcd and I wouldn’t want to duplicate that community. @koraro do you want me to set up an RSS bot to post new comics to the existing lemmy.world community? If one doesn’t already exist? It’s easy to configure the RSS bot to post comics to a designated community for them, and I think that’s better than setting up a duplicate community.

otter ,

Forgot to say thanks yesterday, it looks good!

That makes sense to me about XKCD :) There’s also !comicstrips for some of the other ones

PhilipTheBucket OP ,

Yep. I’m happy it’s working.

Comic strips seem like they have their own communities which I don’t want to collide with, and it’s logical, since the frequency of posting is so much smaller that a human can do the postings no problem.
