I don’t think there has been huge issues with incompatible ISAs on ARM. If you’d use NEON extensions, for example, you might have a C-implementation that does the same if the extensions are not available. Most people don’t handwrite such code, but those that do usually go the extra mile. ARM SoCs usually have closed source drivers that cause headaches. As well as no standardized way of booting.
I haven’t delved super-deep into RISC-V just yet, but as I understand these systems will do UEFI, solving the bootloader headache. And yes, there are optional extensions and you can even make your own. But the architecture takes height for implementing an those extensions in software. If you don’t have the gates for your fancy vector instruction, you can provide instructions to replicate the same. It’ll be slower on your hardware, but it’ll be compatible if done right.

Cable internet tends to stay online even if your power is out. You’d need a battery backup for your modem/router, but it is possible to stay online. Houses can be clever like that, almost all of your utilities will partially work, even when service is interrupted.
That depends on the ISP having backup batteries for their equipment. It will usually only last a couple of hours. 5G will usually stay up for a few days. For longer outages, you will need satellite internet and lots of fuel for your generator.

This issue was solved on Slackware in 1993.
It installs a “huge” kernel that contains all drivers to run on almost any hardware by default, alongside the “generic” kernel with only the modules you need. If the generic kernel fails to boot, you always have the backup, which is known to work, cause it’s the kernel you first boot into after installation.
Edit: Did some reading. “Linux-generic” is just the name of the linux kernel that is used in most computers (as opposed to Linux-realtime, which is the only other Linux kernel that’s still relevant).
Nah, cell towers often have some kind of backup power good for a couple hours or more, at least in the city where I am. I think I once had an outage last 3 days when a tornado wrecked the local transformer station, and still had cell service the entire time.

Turns out, i accidentally had two /boot folders. One was is own partition, and the other was on the rootfs partition. When Arch booted, the separate partition was mounted over the rootfs /boot dir, “shadowing” it
Except, UEFI / GRUB was still pointing to the rootfs partition. So when pacman installed a kernel update, it wasn’t able to update the kernel that UEFI was booting, but it was able to update the kernel modules

They’re not, they’re more like Twitter circles. A channel is one or more authors (that can be masked as simply a post by the channel) blogging to infinite many followers.
I feel like people online are just more honest. Easier to do that looking at a computer screen than if you’re interacting with a flesh-and-blood person.
This is a good point. The pseudonymous internet is like a confessional booth. I can bluntly say all my political beliefs here with little-to-no consequence that I can’t solve by registering a new account. There’s no risk of alienating a friend or family member who disagrees. As an extreme case, I’ve met a couple of people online who can be legally killed for their political views (e.g. not following the state religion). So the internet can provide more comfort in free expression and therefore more people arguing over differences.
I feel like I’ve been hit by a couple of SUV’s and only barely able to claim to be in my 30’s. A few years ago I had an xray done and was in a room waiting for a doctor. This random guy walked in and asked my name, age, and if I had just had my scapula xrayed. He said He had to double check that nothing had been mixed up because my bones looked like someone in their 80’s… Maybe avoid actually getting hit by those SUV’s. My folks are in their mid to upper sixties, but I’m still the slower crochety one, unless I’m on a bike. For all you mid to old farts, there is a reason so many of us are on bikes. It may seem impossible, hell, I can barely sit up or walk, but it is amazing how bad of shape a person can be in and still ride a bike when it is properly setup and fit to the person. Without riding I fall apart both physically and mentally.
In other news, I expected the logarithm of day length verses lifespan to level out so that days seemed like a stable unit of mental measure, but the slowdown never happened and a day is an impossibly short amount of time.

My guy, you were on my mind the other day because I literally was told by my doctor that they might have to go forward with an operation and I was like "I guess it's you and me both brother" and sent some mental sorrows your way. Hahahaha! God, I hope that operation goes well. It sounds like it'll be okay, I mean it sounds awful, but it also sounds like you've got a clear path to being maybe 60 or even 40 instead of 80.
